HTer Goals '25 Edition

Have looked at the mountain tough site and I am no where near ready for that. 20 years of neglect and any mile stone for me is a victory. I just did my first mile total on the elliptical in under 20 minutes. Broke it into 2 sessions with body weight resistance exercise in between. Get out there and get after it as there is only 7 months til Antelope in Nevada (If I draw a tag), 11 months til Idaho deer (I have that tag already) and a whole lot of wishin for a couple more tags.

You have to start somewhere. At least you are starting out doing something. I tell my son who is 10 and he doesn't want to do something in his words as "hard". Break it down to one thing at a time. One rep, one movement, etc. You can't eat an elephant all in one bite. I've been doing mtn tough for about a year or so I was in good shape to start but I feel as good as I ever have in regards to physical fitness and mental fitness. I've packed a few pounds on since starting it, but when you do weighted stepups along with over 100 walking lunges, hiking with weight, you are bound to gain some muscle. I can still wear my clothes from high school, the scale just bumped up some.

Just finished week 2 of mountain tough body weight on ramp 2.0. Been mixing in, on the off days, 20 min on the treadmill at 3 mph and a 5 to 7 incline for 20min followed by 10 miles on the stationary bike in 23 to 24 min and finish with a mile walk on the flat track. If I can keep my nose out of the feed bag I'll make more progress.

Steady around 175lbs.
PSA down to .03 now.
All markers in middle.
T is in middle on one test and low on another.
Chat with oncologist on the 17th. Early on my labs, but they changed the chat date.

Feeling pretty good for a guy about to hit 70.
Did a little jig with Dotti and she went nuts.
Lucky guy.

Anyone going to try the MntTough daily Yoga? Been wanting to try Yoga out always been nervous of the unknown. So hope this gets me more comfortable with the workout.

Late to the party, but I’m in now.

I was going pretty good in ‘24 until I injured my back, and my morning gym trip went out the window. Then the knee pain started, mostly in the middle of my elk hunt, which complicated it.

I’ve been told by my GP and ortho #1 that there really isn’t much to be done short of TKR. I do have a 2nd opinion scheduled next week with Ortho #2, but I’m not hopeful. Will likely end up in a cortisone shot for the next 10 years situation.

Goal #1 - drop 20 pounds by end of July. I was 237 this morning, so 217 or less. That’s mostly to take weight and strain off the knee. I’ve usually maintain strength/loose weight at 1900 - 2200 calories a day so that’s step 1, and get as much protein as I can while still eating vegetables and stuff.

Goal #2 - Get my but back in the gym. Need to rework my program a little as I like lifting heavy, especially legs. GP straight up told me to never squat again.

1 for 1 in February for yoga this morning and spin. Tonights spin. 36th out of 644. 932 calories. 13.9 miles. 514 kJ. Lost at least a gallon of sweat. Thanks for pushing me. Go Team!

Rode my mountain bike hard this weekend too.
