Chantix worked for my wife and I. She has a bit more resolve than I do and she even wondered if I would be able to quit. Traded an expensive nicotine habit for a cheaper gum habit (don't worry @kansasdad, it is sugar free) even that is getting less of a habit with the passage of time. I have heard that there is an increased risk of "un-alive-ing" yourself when on Chantix so be aware. For me the risk was worth the reward.

I understand Chantix works for lots of people. I just fear, logically or not, substituting one chemical/habit for another. Smoking is undoubtedly the worst damn thing I’ve ever done, but I love it like nothing else.
