HTer Goals '25 Edition

Yesterday 2/13 was the last heavy day of MntTough postseason strength 2.0 for me. Took my 1 rep max on deadlift from 405 to 515 my strict un interrupted pull-ups from 3 to 12 and my 6 reps (per side) on 20" single leg box step ups from 130# (2 65# dumb bells) to 180#.

Also did the February challenge today and finished in 40:52" with a 65# pack.

I think I am broken now. Who gets excited about getting on the elliptical and doing a mile 5-6 days a week? Who looks forward to Monday cause the local pool is open for lap swim?

Just wish I could see some results from the effort.

Signed up for a 25K run here in June I think it was.

25,000 miles gonna be rough but I’ll give ‘er hell.

Traveled last week for work and not sure why but didn’t bring my gym bag. Sure enough, saw the gym walking to my room and it was high class for a hotel gym. Instant regret.
Traveling this week for work and didn’t wanna get burned so I made sure to pack my gym bag. Got off the clock and headed down to the most pathetic lame ass fly by night excuse for a hotel gym. Slogged out .75 miles on the 30 year old treadmill before I checked out.
Drinking a couple beers in the room now. Started doing a set of 20 pushups during commercials but cable tv sucks and I decided to quit the game after I got in to triple digits in a half hour.
Make due.

Goals 2025.
Go somewhere that I haven't been every month. Even if it's just hiking up a different mountain.
Make sure that I use all of the outdoor equipment that I've bought in the past - pontoon boat, kayak, bikes, motorbikes etc.
Try to relax more, enjoy life - I'll be 65 this year, and I've wasted too much of my life worrying about things.
Try to get in a little better condition - I've always exercised, but controlling what and how much I eat is the real issue for me.
As far as actual hunting goes - spend more time camping and less time driving.

Shouldn't let this thread die on the vine here... we're not even 4 months into the year.

Been hitting the Y after work pretty frequently and have made a point to bang out a bunch of air squats, lunges, and incline pushups at the office every day. Feeling good and spry.

Starting to get to a challenging point of year for me to stay on task with workouts. As Spring springs I find myself more frequently skipping the gym after work. Sometimes its hitting the river after work for spring walleyes, sometimes its chasing turkeys, and sometimes I like to sit on the patio and drink some beers in the sun as the kiddos play. Before too long we'll have temps eclipsing 90 and I'll welcome the inside of the air conditioned gym, but it's tough getting there every day when it's so damn nice outside. The pooch usually gets a good long walk every day, regardless if I hit the gym or not, so I've got that going for me.

I hit the strength training with body weight excercises and dumbbells at home pretty hard in January and February. March has been busy for a whole slew of reasons and I’ve slowed up a bit. I actually think it was good to still workout, just not as hard. Proof that strength training works though because yesterday I walked 4 miles and set a p.r. for a mile walking.

I need to draw a good tag somewhere to get me motivated to hit it hard again.
