Two gun big game combo

I'm w the bolt and lever crowd. Had a 444 Marlin w a shotgun 2.5x scope over see-through rings/open sights, should have kept it. 45-70, 35 Whelen, 338 Marlin, 308, 7-08, 284!, any of those in a short handy lever gun. Model 99, BLR, Model 88, etc. The bolt would be in a flexible caliber like 270, 7RM, '06, short mag. Lever is a great choice for varmint/small game as well. My old Marlin 57M levermatic is such a piece.

7mm-08. Perfect compliment would be another 308 based case, maybe338 federal?, like everyone else said, get this one in stainless if possible, so he has one for crappy weather.

I have only ever owned 2 full bore rifles, .243 was my first made by BRNO then I bought a Sako stainless, shot everything I asked of it from fox to the biggest red stag, then added a 30-06 Browning Xbolt stainless to cover all species in the UK and overseas. Last year sold the Browning and splashed out on a Blaser R8 30-06. They will do me!
Cheers

If I'm going the practical route, I would pick a Remington model 7 syn/ss, in 260, and a Tikka T3 300wsm. Since I like to have things that are a little different, my outside the box combo would be a Ruger #1 257 roberts, and a pre 64 winchester in 375 H&H.

If I had to pick only two I would have 1 rifle in something like a 260 rem, 6.5x284, 6.5 creedmore or a 6mm - 6.5 of some sort. Secondly I would probably go with a 300 win mag.

The last trip I took out west was the only time I was truly content with my rifles. I took two 700bdl 270, one with the original stock and one with a factory plastic stock. They both shot the same load with the same accuracy using the same scope.

Problem is, thats pracrical and boring.

Merry Christmas- I suppose it would depend on what game you hunt but for me I live and hunt in the western mountains.I carry a .270 win and a 45/70 . Both are very compact, are handloaded for and my two choices out of many when I go hunting or horse riding . The 45/70 sends a good heavy ball and the .270 a light fast one, excellent from Grizzly to Elk.Good bullets are the key.Cheers

I me been thinking about this a while and I was fixed on a .270win but have changed my mind to a 7mm-08 Rem, and 338 win mag. Really like the idea of a 250gr round at 2700fps.

Well, I gave my oldest a Kimber .223 and Win 70 30-06.

I have also stuck with the same safety setup (at least for bolt guns) as my boys were growing up. It doesn't require any thought on their part when switching from different rifles, .22 to 300 Win Mag.

If I had to choose only 2 I'd probably go .223 Rem & 7-08 or 30-06.

I don't, praise the Lord, so my fave is my Kimber Classic Select .257 Roberts, which is also my favorite cartridge.

I will say that a .223 Rem, .257 Rob, and 7-08 would be perfect...

If i could only have 2 rifles it would be my Howa 1500 6.5creedmoor and my browning a-bolt 300wsm
