It gets worse, I saw people paint structural timber beige to covert to a more “modern” ski chalet. If was Jesus they would be going straight to hell.Jesus.
Our painter is painting a significant amount of hickory cabinetry right now. Lots of detail. Ornate crown moldings. Word has it the cedar t&g on the ceilings will also be replaced with drywall. Sane thing. Modernization. mtmuleyIt gets worse, I saw people paint structural timber beige to covert to a more “modern” ski chalet. If was Jesus they would be going straight to hell.
Perspective: Yep the growth is almost unbelievable; the density despicable! Each morning at around 7am it's solid headlights from Gateway to Four Corners, almost bumper to bumper for five miles ... then they enter to fly south through the Gallatin Canyon to Big Sty! (Turning left to head north on Die-way 191 is like a crap-shoot, Russian roulette chance to accelerate across a small traffic opening and skid to a left turn across the intersection ... so many accidents and some fatalities ... unacceptable traffic with no end in sight!)The Gallatin is the only place in Montana that possibly is more populated. mtmuley
There has been a lot of reverse migration of the Tom Joads class from California since covid. They campout and squat in the BNF, at least till winter hits. Where they go in winter, do not know.I can't see a mass migration from the So Cal beach vibe leaving that easy life and climate for a Montana winter.
The middle turn lane through Hamilton is fun. mtmuleyPerspective: Yep the growth is almost unbelievable; the density despicable! Yes, and it was Die-way 93 even long before the Gallatin Die-way 191. Avoid them if you can. mtmuley and I seem stuck in bad places. The middle turn lane through Hamilton is fun. mtmuley
At least the speed limit is mostly 25.The middle turn lane through Hamilton is fun. mtmuley
The Eastside Highway was finally widened. Seen some bad stuff happen on that stretch of road. Saw a woman drive through a herd of cattle being moved one time. Out of state plate. Bet you can guess. mtmuleyYes, and it was Die-way 93 even long before the Gallatin Die-way 191. Avoid them if you can. mtmuley and I seem stuck in bad places.
I have seen an increase in the amount of people in the mountains near me. Tons of SXS's and 4 wheelers. More long term campers in certain areas. mtmuleyDoesn’t matter how remote you live. The new residents moving to the bigger cities will come crowd your favorite remote places the 12 weeks out of the year you’d prefer to see them the least. The other 40 weeks sound pretty nice though.
I wouldn’t say the Root is that remoteI have seen an increase in the amount of people in the mountains near me. Tons of SXS's and 4 wheelers. More long term campers in certain areas. mtmuley

We're all Duttons now.A fricken TV show brought people here. mtmuley
So much so that in one instance they get elected to state office a scant 4 years after moving from LA.Kalispell is full of them now.
I recently saw a clip of all the cowboy hats arriving at the Gallatin International Airport. It was a stunning scene of wannabe Duttons. We're all Duttons now.
Willing to bet, most of those sxs's are on credit, by people who shouldn't be using credit.Same in the FNF. All the rich transplants driving their sxs’s to nowhere while all the poor displaced residents setting up shanty towns in the pullouts.
I didn't say that. And you can get really remote on the West side if you want to. mtmuleyI wouldn’t say the Root is that remote
I drove around 90 miles a day for high schoolI didn't say that. And you can get really remote on the West side if you want to. mtmuley
