shuuuYeah PPP loans were where the big money was made. Pretty sad deal. You really are a pos if you took that money and you didn’t need it. Bet that was a large percentage of biz owners.

As a half assed hunter, idk if this is true. The unfortunate part is that raising fees will do nothing to lessen the amount of people who are going to apply.
For some people it’s not that they can’t find the money to pay $2k for an elk tag. It comes down to being responsible. One side job could get me an elk tag at the “special” price. But it could also get me a week vacation with my wife and 2 kids. Or could be contributed to a college fund. Too many side jobs puts too much burden on my wife and takes time away from the family. It’s selfish. I guess complaining does no good. The kids would probably have as much fun spending a week bird hunting and beaver trapping. Plenty of fun to be had out there for a reasonable cost.At $1200 a tag, that's a whopping $25 a week I'd have to save to afford it. Take lunch to work twice a week instead of eating out and it's paid for. $1200 isn't a lot of money these days unfortunately
I think this hits the nail on the head, in a time when hunter recruitment is down. People new to western hunting will probably be turned off by this, but if you look at everyday cost they have gone up on everything. When I took my kids on vacation in the nineties I spent $2500 for two weeks, so it's just a matter of where do you want to spend your money. I don't like the changes, but that being said I'm still going to play the game, I'm still going to support wildlife management and public lands. One and done guys may benefit from changes like this. Creating long term advocates for public land and wildlife, not so much.
Took me 5 years to stop craving it....good luckYou just described me to a T. It still ain't enough. Speaking if which I am craving cope...thanks
We're a showboat society, if something costs more, we're more likely to want to purchase it. Looks better on the gramAs a half assed hunter, idk if this is true.
Honestly, $700 is a little rich for my blood.
I could prob have just as much fun just backpacking and save enough money for a brand new set of skis.
Or buy a mtb lift ticket.
Or just bike pack.
Not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing.

I know that's true just based on draw results and preference points needed to draw. I was referring to national recruitment numbers.Western hunter recruitment is off the charts. That’s why we are in this mess to begin with
National recruitment issues are due to land ownership issues. We don’t have that problem in the west. We don’t need to make up for the lack of hunters in the east. The east hunters need to figure that out not recruit more people to pound the westI know that's true just based on draw results and preference points needed to draw. I see a lot of hunters driving some pretty expensive pickups pulling mega 5th wheels. $2k ain’t crap to them. People never been richer. Hell the brozetards pay $2k for a Sitka suit and some of those turds prolly have 5 different suits
Autographed please!Bros are camped about 50’ away. I’ll try to get you a hat.
How they pounded the west when it's the game and fish that allocates licenses.National recruitment issues are due to land ownership issues. We don’t have that problem in the west. F&G issue licenses, but R3 and GoHunt, etc accelerate demand/point creep. Two separate issues. How they pounded the west when it's the game and fish that allocates licenses.
That's true, same with all the hunting forums and magazines that have promoted hunting in the western states.F&G issue licenses, but R3 and GoHunt, etc accelerate demand/point creep. Two separate issues.
Leases, food plots, and named “hit list bucks” are killing eastern hunting.
I would add, people get interested in hunting and decide to move out here. But @Huntkook it’s the increase in residents that are actually increasing pressure since nr’s are usually limitedF&G issue licenses, but R3 and GoHunt, etc accelerate demand/point creep. Two separate issues.
