Stump the Chump!

And Frank was an arrogant prick, but a musical genius. Best concert @ the Bowl,The Mothers and the LA Orchestra,Frank & Zubin Meta going at each other note for note.
Hank, did you also go to concerts at the Greek? We enjoyed the Bowl and the Greek. Way back in the 60's we saw two shows at the Greek we really enjoyed.

1. Oh the Island in the Sun

2. Its not unusual to be loved by anyone

1977? That's about the time disco was the rage. No wonder I don't remember. I turned the radio off.
Actually I also enjoyed some of the disco songs

1. last dance

2. You walked into a party like you were walking into a yacht

Yes I did see a play at the Greek April. Porgey & Bess. Sydney Poitier.
School would take us there ,the Hollywood Bowl, the Pasadena Playhouse.
Saw Elizabeth Taylor do Cat on a Hot tin Roof there @ the Playhouse, with Brando. They both were alumni. My Aunt took me. .
The 4th at the Bowl. WOW!

I just remembered there was another place in that area of the Bowl, the Pilgramage Theatre?
The Playboy Jazz festival was there a few times if my mind is not gone. I went twice when Tony Bennett was headlining.

Fantastic !! Loved Porgy and Bess, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and you are correct about the jazz festivals

Another place where we got to see a few musicians and comedians was the playboy club. My husband and I joined the Playboy Club when it opened in Hollywood ( I still have the key that we were given when we joined somewhere ). Al Jarreau was one that always stood out in memory, but there were many.

Hank, Ken, if I may, funny story. One evening when we left the playboy club my husband said, did you notice the attention I got from the bunny that was serving us ( like he was all that ) and I said I did and if you give me a hundred dollar tip, I will also be nice to you ;) ( and remember one hundred dollars was a big tip in the 1960's )

Hank, congratulations on seeing all those musicians and going to all those venues. Good times then and wonderful memories now :)
