Still Kicking!

Anyone want a dobie?

Dotti woke me @0330. Needed out.
I went to bed at 1630, beat.

But I have a front porch.
A canvas sack from a sows ear.

Gilbert showed up Wed. and took apart the crooked start, and they rebuilt it.
Still needs some screws and steps. The handrails.
But Dotti & I watched sunset on the porch.
Back porch next week ,the gables on the barn and the tool shed gets wrapped.
They'll help me set the generator and move my tools into the shop they built.

Made mostly by me. On a old homestead.
Built with the last lumber from K&B lumber in Reserve. Gila reclaimed fire logs.
Jimmy retired 2 years ago. Good friend. Good family.

Gilbert was playing with Dotti during lunch.
The amigos were picking pinion.
He told her he was bringing 3 of her sisters to help keep me under control.

Trip to store and fix the gate.
Pit fire a tri-tip.
Dotti on watch, from the porch.

Life is good.

Pick up some alfalfa for the momma's. Check.

I have an old friend in his early 80’s. He got a Black Lab puppy a year ago. It has turned into a 96 lb. Goofball !! He said it has been the best thing for him … keeps him hiking and active. We all know that a tired puppy is a well behaved puppy !!!!

Old dog learning new tricks thanks to young dog🤣. She's just helping to keep you young hank.
Don't know about young. But I am alive.

I lost my youth @ 17 and aged 100 years in 2.

Can't become static with her around. But she is very quick to learn.
I'm a little slower these days. Learning from her daily.

It is great she is just like Rio in habits and demeanor. With me. Except the licking.
Rio was not a licker. Had a hard life I believe before we met.
She rests her head on me just like him.
And climbs over my shoulders to lick both cheeks.

She stood on the hearth corner this morning ,just like Rio. Heating both sides after a trip outside.
And she has been told...it will hurt you. Be careful.

Fall morning. Cool and clear.
Nice little fire burning.
Gold and green outside.

Time to install new gate hook and see if I can lift it on solo.
Dump 2 bales for the girls.

I'll go place the ramp in the truck door. Set the lure.
I miss Rio going with me everywhere.
But trying not to traumatize Dotti into it.

New boots to break in.
Life in NM.

85,sunny.
Fall. LOL
Warmest on record. 12 inches of rain so far this year, low.

Got bloodwork done this morning and hit ranch supplies. To go from Sophia's.
Steady 165lbs.
PSA still low,.04. All markers all good but sodium a bit low & glucose a bit high.
Piss test to make sure I'm not selling pain meds...LOL

Dotti stayed home and we shared a green chile cheese burger & fires when I got here.
Bigger & faster daily.

Got my covered porches built. Finally.
I'll finish rails & steps myself.
Shed builders.
I would call them woodbutchers , but that would be derogatory to woodbutchers.
Oh,well.
I'll have them wrap a shed and cover the gables on the barn.
The dad called today and said he had his appendix removed today.

Found out how to position Generac today. Lift with pipes.
I'll have the amigos do that and move my tools into the shop next week.

I thought I might be. But it has given me more resolve.
To chill out.

I was serious about the 3 puppies David.
thank you! I am not ready now, with our preparation for a move to ID as soon as we find a house up there, I can't pay sufficient attention to a puppy. And because I still work, and have to sleep, the Missus is part of the equation. That said, I am going to be sending a check to WI for an Airedale pup, from a kennel with bloodlines I am familiar with, and I know an owner of one of the puppies (here dad was responsible for a lot of the bloodline). I will probably be puppy-ing in the spring.

Looks stout Hank.
Full 2x's & 6x6's. Beams.
Overbuilt.
But I could pull the mobile out and build a real house.......naaah.
I'll paint the mobile sage green. New windows soon.

I can view the valley & see the mesas. Picking pinion nuts off the deck.
Best year ever for pinion. Folks all along the hwys picking.

Last lumber out of my friends mill in Reserve. The stains and saw marks mean a lot to me.

You can play with Dotti when you come down to look for the Missus' cow.
Airedales are not common in NM. I looked years ago. Good ranch dogs.

Dotti has this one claimed.

I miss pinion nuts. We gathered them when I lived in Nevada for a bit. Delicious. mtmuley
