My office used to be in earshot of a boat ramp. I’m sure I witnessed a few final straws in relationships. The best were when the husband would be yelling at the wife until she gave up and then he couldnt even back a trailer.

Take her to a large empty parking lot, set up a few cones and practice together. Be patient.

I don't use that boat ramp anymore. The ones that really bother me there is the guys that wait until they are blocking the ramp to get ready after they just drove past the rigging lane.

You outta see 3 pm on a Saturday when a bass tournament rolls for weigh ins and there’s a ol boy in his John boat who gets cut off waiting in line. I’ve seen fists fly.

We have found that having a phone call while on speaker works well. She can be where she needs to be and relay everything she is seeing. Don’t use right or left, use drivers and passengers side. Then you don’t need her in the mirror anymore. It’s made the process significantly better.

Spend more time with a trailer on. It’s weird to me driving without that how much I’m towing. I can damn near parallel park with one on

The cellphone call idea makes me want to use a video call and duct tape next time.

Have you ever used a cell phone communication between you two while backing up? I watch on YouTube KYD = keep your daydream. It’s on every Sunday around 5 pm. A couple that always uses phone to back there trailer into a spot.

This is the answer, but I'll add that I installed a backup camera as well. I still like her to watch for swing-out or front-cap clearance when I have it jack-knifed...
