Montana/Idaho wolf management

Here's what I'd love to see-----A topic with only Ten Bears, BHR, MD4m, ringer and michaelr discussing anything that requires some intelligence and coherent posts. Everybody else should stay out of it and let them show us what they can do. That would settle the whole issue! :D In fact, I think they should have their own forum! What a joke! :D

Make SI a "group" requiring membership like the adult section. Then if someone gets their feelings hurt it's their own damn fault.

How can someone bitch about what goes on down here when they have to click the friggin' link to read it???? If you don't want to see it, don't click it!

Gee IT, that was rude. I might have to write and complain about you guys calling me names as it is harming my self image :D . I guess the breaching and ATV/AZ/game recovery comments were not very insightful since they made you look a little like a goat. Hope that nothing changes here as I have truly enjoyed some of the discussions with our more liberal counterparts. As for your idea it would be rather boring to have a debate with everyone on the same side of the issue. Now go start another thread about protecting the rare "Idaho liberal pigmy flycatcher" or how you are going to manage YOUR forest and will allow us to partake only when we agree with you.

Matty,

Can you, Buzz, and IT understand Marv's post? If not I'd be happy to explain it in a more simple language for you. I'll give you a hint however, your heating bill will be going up. Still want to breech those dams? Debates over. YOU LOSE!

BHR- I believe the savings to the individual was approx. $1.87 although I would have to look back and see. Over-all those dams cost more money than they save. If you wish to "debate" dam breaching bring that topic forward and I'm sure there are plenty of people on this board that can debate it.

Matt,

We already did that and you lost. You should go back and look because you have no clue what we are talking about. Besides, the electricity part is only one small part of the debate. You guys like to hammer away at each issue individually, but when you put all the issues together and look at it that way, dam breeching makes zero sense today. Maybe in the future when the variables change it will make more sense and could be worth looking at. Today however, only the kooks are looking at it as a viable option.

Ringer,

Here is one of my endangered species posts from awhile back. You like IT's posts on the subject so much, I thought you might enjoy this one as well.

Liberanus Americanus. Commonly refered to as the American Liberal. Prime habitat for this timid creature includes large U. S. cities, and college campuses. President George W. Bush has created a hostile enviroment for this animal and is considered it's number one threat. An emergancy transplant is being considered in more hospitable enviroments such as parts of Canada and France. But such a radical move is heavily debated. Once this happens, the fragile Liberanus Americanus can no longer be returned to the wild.

In summary, the Liberanus Americanus must be listed immediately if we have any hope of saving it from extinction. I do fear however that it is just too late.

BHR,

You really must enjoy making an ass of yourself...this is prime here:

"Today however, only the kooks are looking at it as a viable option."

You have any facts to back up this claim or shall I give you a good and thorough beating on that BS post?

Do you have any idea who the folks are that want to breach dams? What agencies?

This is funny.

BHR, "dam breeching makes zero sense today" Just when I thought you couldn't come up with anything dumber, you posted that!

You must not have read anything that's ever been posted about the economics of operating the dams on the Lower Snake.

Aren't you the guy who opposes high fences across migratory routes that big game use?

Ithaca- The one thing I've noticed BHR is all for anything that will make his electric bill $5.00 a year cheaper. He cares about things directly affecting him today but can't see down the road a few years and could really care less about future generations. Hell, he'd be the type to put up a coal burning facility and tell you the deep smog and smoke keeps your skin from getting burned from the sun thus reducing skin cancer.

Ringer,

I figured you'ld like the "anus" part.

IT,

I oppose the high fence in particular because of the fact that it is electrified. That fence is killing salmon as we speak.

Matty,

All that lip coming from someone who heats his house with electricity? What do you think about Bush's proposal to increase the BPA rates? Are you with Rehberg or Bush on this one?

BPA will be increasing (beg. October 1st) their transmission rates alone to their wholesale customers by about $1 per MWh...while only a 1-2% increase in their overall cost of delivered wholesale power (curently "budgeted" as $30-$40/MWh) it is a 12-13% increase in their transmission rates.

Probably with many of these utilities is that they looked at the HUGE revenues of the 2000-2001 as something that was going to last FOREVER.
Most didn't have the resolve to be like the squirrel and salt some of those nuts away for leaner times (I glad my outfit did). Due to that, entites like BPA experienced revenue hits (as opposed to their five year budget numbers) of $60-$75 million dollars in 2003 and 2004
