Hunters, Who Should You Vote For?

Nemont, "Or did you just hear that the president is raping the planet and decide that must be true because a liberal said it?"

No, I'm just watching his record on the environmental issues. It's like Halliburton is running the EPA.

Ithaca,

All I want is proof that he is the WORST president ever on the environment. I have had my democratic friends say the same thing and when challenged can never come up with proof that the President is raping and pillaging the enviroment.

Again go back and look at history and then show me that he is the worst on the environment. I am not trying to pick a fight with you but would like you to provide proof that president Bush is the worst Environmental president we have had.

Nemont

Well, Since I used to be a big fan or Dubya, but lately he has not been a favorite of mine. I do not agree with the way things are going, So for Now I will vote for who ever WH wants me to vote for....He is Very intelligent and I trust his opinion :D

Not true Idahocrittergetter. We do not have the "right" to hunt.
There are several states that have "The Right to Hunt" status passed, If where gonna knit-pick About specific "Rights",in Bill of Rights, I've never seen a "Right" to piss out my back door when I feel like, nor the "Right" for a million other things. I do however live in a land of "Freedom" and although many freedoms are regulated, that does not mean they are not Rights! The definition I refer to as Rights(noun, plural rights)-entitlement: an entitlement, freedom, or privilege to do something! Just curious but how do you(everyone else) refer to the definition of Rights:adjective, adverb, noun, transitive and/or
intransitive verb, or interjection? Definitions and meaning can be argued indefinately! This is not negatively aimed at anyone, so please don't take so!

EG,
I have many reasons not to vote for Kerry however this is one of bout 20 good reason I have.
Kerry, during his 20-year stint in the U.S. Senate, has been an always reliable vote for the anti-gunners and has routinely voted with the gun-ban movement since he was elected as the junior member from Massachusetts.
As I said only one of many but thats just me everyone should do their homework and make up their own minds! I Believe in voting so I do so based on what I learn factual not by whatever happens to be printed on whatever forum or site. Print does not make it liable.
Gunner out of all post so far where do you stand, haven't seen or heard your vote and or reasons! Just curious

Anyone who wants wildlife managed so there will be some for future generations would be nuts to vote for Bush. He's destroying more wildlife habitat than any President in history .
where is this info located I'm seriously intrested, I've done research and found info on drilling in artic areas but nothing else factual anyways. Although have found plenty of opinionated info from Bush haters and pro Kerry advocates. I appreciate all the info good or bad bout Bush like to know all the facts!

Nemont, It'll take some research to show who the worst president is on the environment, but we know Bush is worse that Clinton, Bush Sr., probably worse than Reagan, worse than Carter, worse than Ford and Nixon (Nixon passed the Endangered Species Act, so that probably puts him high up on the list of presidents who have had the best effect on wildlife.) Worse than JFK.(Who didn't have a chance to get much done on anything)

Here's what I found at first try:

"Bush wins Triple Trifecta as worst president ever"
http://www.freepress.org/columns/display/7/2004/832

"Of 415 historians who expressed a view of President Bush’s administration to this point as a success or failure, 338 classified it as a failure and 77 as a success. (Moreover, it seems likely that at least eight of those who said it is a success were being sarcastic, since seven said Bush’s presidency is only the best since Clinton’s and one named Millard Fillmore.) Twelve percent of all the historians who responded rate the current presidency the worst in all of American history, not too far behind the 19 percent who see it at this point as an overall success."

"The Worst President Ever
Paul Cummins
Mirror contributing writer

Though some may think it an exaggeration, liberal sour grapes, or egregious disrespect, I must say it: I believe we are experiencing the worst presidential regime in American history.
Leaving aside the massive corporate scandals -- for which this administration cannot be fully blamed, but about which it has been deafeningly silent -- leaving this aside, we have witnessed the most rapidly accumulated and highest deficits in American history, the most blatant and ignorant assaults upon the environment in American history, and the “achievement” of the most widespread hatred abroad of the USA ever."

Gee, when I searched google for "worst president on environment" Bush gets the first two pages of links. Check this out!

http://www.google.com/search?q=worst+president+on+environment&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&start=10&sa=N

Yea and the other place on google he comes up as best is georgewbush.com

mmmmmm seeing a pattern here.

If I was a environmental voter alone there is no fugging way I would vote for bush.

As a hunter there is no fugging way I would vote for either Bush or Kerry.

So there will be other issues to entertain to decide who I will vote for. I still wish that NONE OF THE ABOVE would be on the ballot.

IT,
In your trifecta piece there is just one short snippet on the environment. Has logging increased signifcantly since the president took over from Bill Clinton. If it has you may want to alert all the closed down sawmills to start back up

I just want some proof from you tha president Bush has destroyed the environment in 3 and half short years. I have asked this of all my "Bush sucks" friends and so far nobody has been able to show me hard proof. One guy pointed to the CBM field in Wyoming that recieved their permit in 1999, I wonder if Bush was president then? I don't think he was.

Your source goes on to say that the world hates us. So what, they hated us before George Bush was president. Why is important for us to be well liked in the world? Our "allies", France and Germany profited, illegally and with the U.N. as accomplices, off of Saddam's oil while he killed is own people yet the French and Germans are admired by all the leftist in this country for their "principled" foreign policy. Bullshit

So please provide proof of what you accuse the president of.

What about "Lag Time"????

I think we have posted the following in SI, and I am not sure if I can find the links, but if you disagree with any of my memory, I can search.

</font>
  • Dubya is APPROVING Drilling Permits on Fed Lands at a much faster pace than others</font>
  • Dubya stood in front of Ice Harbor dam and said it would NOT come down</font>
  • Dubya is counting Hatchery fish in order to circumvent the ESA for Salmon</font>
  • Dubya is opening up 31% of Federal Forest Lands (previously closed to RoadBuilding)</font>
  • Dubya is trying to kill all Elk/Bison/Park Employees in Yellowstone by allowing Snowmobiles ;)</font>
The affects of these may not have happend in the last 3.5 years, but they will seriously degrade the quality of life for the next 3.5 generations. :(

Dubya is APPROVING Drilling Permits on Fed Lands at a much faster pace than others

Dubya stood in front of Ice Harbor dam and said it would NOT come down

Dubya is counting Hatchery fish in order to circumvent the ESA for Salmon.

Dubya is opening up 31% of Federal Forest Lands (previously closed to RoadBuilding)

Dubya is trying to kill all Elk/Bison/Park Employees in Yellowstone by allowing Snowmobiles
And this is raping the planet? First off he is PROPOSING opening roadless areas. I am sure the first lawsuit is already filed.

What administration built the Ice Harbor Dam? (AUTHORIZATION: The Ice Harbor Project was authorized by Section 2 of the River and Harbor Act of 1945 (Public Law 79-14, 79th Congress, 1st Session), and was approved March 2, 1945 , in accordance with House Document 704, 75th Congress, 3d Session.)
Since 1945 how many presidents also have not torn down the dam? Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, G. Bush 1, Clinton but President Bush gets your blame because you hate him. That is objective.

Yellowstone snowmobile access I am surprised that as a hunter you would side with the Fund for Animals that orginally filed to stop access to the park for snowmobiles. Again just because you hate him doesn't mean it should blind you to what is really going on.

Drilling permits still must follow the laws of the land as they have not been repealed under this president. So they go through faster generally it is good whenever the government does something efficiently.

hatchery fish counting is your domain as I do not understand the salmon issue.

EG, your outbursts are feable.

Nemont,

I thought our previous posts on the issues I listed, resulted in unanimous agreement with my opinions. :D

As for the Roadless and ruining hunting in 31% of the Federal Forests, I thought the rule was already published in the Federal Register, and we are now in the 60 day period??? Seems like a done deal, unless some valiant pro-Hunting group like the Idaho Conservation League files suit.

As for Ice Harbor, after years of declining Salmon runs, the Science is finally in, and we all now agree that breaching is the only method for saving Salmon. We can blame Ike all we want, but that ain't gonna save a Salmon...

As for Yellowstone and Snowmobiles, I just put that in to rile Hangar18... I ain't got a dog in that fight, but it is fun to watch Hangar rebut those posts...

As for Drilling permits, I kinda think that Dubya/Cheney/Halliburton are not the best people to be speeding the permitting process up.... You don't suppose they might want to cut a few corners, and not do the studies???

Hatchery fish being counted for ESA reasons is reason enough to call Dubya the WORST President ever, on the Environment/Hunting/Fishing.

EG,
I could agree with you on many issues. What bothers me is your reasoning behind what you post. Also Ike wasn't the president in 1945 he was the 5 star Commander In Chief of allied forces Europe.

My I still have not seen any hard proof that Pres. Bush is the WORST president in our history. He isn't even the worst war time president in our history that honor most likely go to Wilson. Jackson was about as shitty as a president could be. So I still need PROOF but I am not surprised that nobody has provided because non of my liberal, leftist friends could either.

Not being the worst at something doesn't make you good either. I'm better than William Hung (sp?) at singing, but I'm far from good. I'm not hung like a gnat, but I've never been confused for Peter North.
