Grizzly distribution and population has changed a lot in the last 20-30 years, and I’m assuming since @buffybr has hunted it.

You need to be prepared for grizzlies in any unit you hunt. Even more so if you’re looking along the park line in the Hellroaring, Buffalo Fork, and Slough Creek drainages.

One big reason for being prepared for grizzlies while unlimited hunting is the time and place you will be hunting. Early September the bears will be feeding on white bark pine nuts, in the sub alpine basins where most people will be hunting sheep in, in September.

It's very important to tell the difference between black bear and griz scat. Black bear scat will have plenty of berries and nuts. Griz scat will have bells in it and smell like bear spray. Very important safety tip!!!!!!!

Saw a group of 6 rams through another tourists spotter inside the park this summer. That was up [Redacted]. Two were definitely legal, and one was a heavier, broomed, and nearing full curl. That would be a heck of a ram to find in September up there.

Maybe you can get an edge up on the competition by packing in a ladder to get a better view from unconventional glassing spots? This seems like the next pro tip!
