Colorado Assault Weapons Ban Submitted

I am a bit taken aback by those with no sympathy for the poor trying to feed their families. For them that IS the economy. Let them eat cake?

I have a lot of sympathy for them and food inflation is too high, but it is complicated. A wave of avian flu reduced the chicken population, meat prices remain high from the liquidation of herds in the drought 2021, and South America has a drought which is keeping grain prices high. And yes, this is a consequence of the government giving out $4T in checks, (which Ogle county also gladly accepted 😉). Good news is there are a lot of government programs, and jobs, to help the poor. At least they can rest easy knowing their guns are secure. The rest of it is going to get chipped away at, some to their detriment.

I can see we have vastly different life experiences. I'm not talking about folks on SNAP. Talking about folks working a couple of jobs to make ends meet. I'll just leave it there.
Maybe. I grew up “poor”, so I have tremendous sympathy for those in that situation and support many of the programs to help. But I also made sure I wasn’t going to stay that way. I didn’t sit around complaining about what wasn’t going in my favor or blame the government for my situation (or the price of eggs). I see a pretty good situation to be living in right now if I was poor and willing to work a couple of jobs.

I've already had members of my family add their body count for the sake of this country, and it wasn't about doing nothing, it was about giving you the right to sit there on your computer and type out your free speech!

Would you like to talk about doing something to help the death toll in this country? How about we stop the fentanyl from coming across our border? The single largest killer of people from ages 18-45 is fentanyl, 100,000 just last year. How many years of "mass shooting" would it take to equal that?

Here's a few questions for you. How about we start infringing on the 1st amendment even more than we already are. How about we severely limit free speech and religion? Would you be ok with that?
Hmm...did they lose their lives in Parkland, El Paso, Sandyhook, Uvalde, Buffalo, Las Vegas, Pulse night club, Virginia Tech, Columbine, Aurora CO, or any number of other senseless mass shootings?
You know darn well I wasn't talking about military deaths.

So uhm I read up to the fourth page, can anyone summarize the next 10?

One generalization about CO and guns. The subject is toxic. I agree with whoever it was that said we should be looking at ways of reducing the nutcases and criminals running around shooting up the place, but I think ARs are not in danger of being banned.

To refresh your memory... The head of the CO senate lost his seat in a recall over guns. Pueblo that Democratic stronghold recalled their sitting state senator over guns. All those 12th generation Hispanic folks down in Pueblo working union jobs at the steel mill,,, don't even think about messing with their guns.

Polis is no dope. He likes winning issues so he can run for President, last thing he wants is a big fight over semi autos.

We need state mental hospitals again, lots of them.

So you think banning ARs would solve the mass shooting issues?

20 million ARs.
400 million pistols.

Are you really shallow enough to believe that ARs are the issue and it's easily solved by taking them away?

What percentage of mass shooters are criminals? I'd guess 100%. Guess who doesn't give a shit about laws? Criminals...

Save your breath with that one.

Shotguns and pistols could easily be used, and I’d say in most cases a shotgun would be more efficient. Let’s say we ban AR’s and the shootings don’t stop, then what? Should we ban knives, cars, hands and feet?

Care to comment on the drug deaths and whether focusing on drugs or AR’s would save more lives?

How about the comment on limiting free speech and religion? Are you good with that as well?

It would be really great if gun grabbers would start looking at easily researched stats instead of using emotion for all their arguments. Remember, a 9mm can blow a lung right out of the body. An AR shoots a 50cal bullet, and my favorite, “an AR shoots a bullet 5 times faster than a regular bullet”It’s hard to talk sensibly with people when they don’t know the first thing about guns and the stats on them being used in crimes.

Methinks high egg prices are a result of an ongoing avian flu outbreak more than inflation. Which is actually friggin scary in its own right. Maybe not the best inflation indicator at the moment.

Brioche is gonna be real dang expensive now.
