Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Colorado Assault Weapons Ban Submitted

Cake, brioche, or bread, team gun grabber better focus their attention on the economy, and leave the 2nd amendment alone for now, otherwise they are going to lose their SCJ appointment privileges for a long time.
Move it to the other forum. Any argument the economy is failing comes from Fox News.

Have you been to the grocery store lately? CPI is built of many things you don't buy every week, but cost of living with energy, food, and housing are way up. I know many, perhaps most of us here are not too concerned about the cost of eggs or milk, but the middle/lower are desperate and dipping into savings to meet bills.

Maybe a little empathy.

You seen wage inflation, unemployment, job openings?

It's interesting, I was watching peaky blinders a while back and thought the similarities as far as political climate were pretty interesting between the 3rd season and now. Huge resurgence in populism/nationalism in the 30s and rise of fascists, things are waaaaaay better now than in the 30s... but still interesting.

I think a lot of folks share your sentiments, and the solutions are super complex and involve changes to all aspects of our society. These discussions tend to sprawl because obviously it's bigger than just guns.

My perspective here is folks keep voting for these wing nuts who are promising to smash it out of the park for their team, that's horse pucky, they never do that's not how the system works.

I'm a big fan of the guy that consistently hits singles and doubles, those are the kinds of solutions we need.
Politicians are not the answer. Both parties. 95% of them are there to get famous or make money.

I have my solutions to that problem but I’d rather not the SS follow me around.

We don’t elect smart people that make smart decisions, we elect people off of feelings and gut impulses. (Medias fault)

It absolutely pains me to find someone elected to congress that I would pay to run my business let alone the presidents we’ve had. And that’s where we are. Vote with your gut…..

Kennedy: had dads backing
Johnson: got put in by his political cronies and Kennedy dying.
Nixon: watergate
Ford: got in because of watergate
Carter: got in as an outsider and failed because the insiders wanted him to
Reagan: got elected for change
Bush: got elected on continuance of Reagan
Clinton: elected for change
Bush:elected because of his daddy sbd change
Obama:elected for diversity and change
Trump:elected for change
Biden:elected for change.

We don’t get the best, we get what isn’t what we have because we think the other is better.

We are Idiocracy.

I’d hire Charlie Baker or Michael Bennet to run my business… or Carter back in the day.

But yeah your Presidential review tracks lol

Let me ask this question AGAIN since nobody was willing to answer the first 4 times I asked.
Who here is willing to add one or more of YOUR family members to the body count all for the sake of continuing to do nothing?
What a ridiculous thing to say and ask. Which is why nobody probably bothered to respond to you.

My family members all pack a pistol and they understand the importance of having those RIGHTS.

If the govt wants to do SOMETHING, they should open back up the state mental institutions and fill them up with the 25 million loony tunes that are running wild in the country. But they won’t, because that would take away from “their” votes that they so desperately need.

The sad thing is he can't see the big picture. He's panicking and thinks the answer is to ban ARs. Say they successfully banned them. The shootings would continue, so then they would go after pistols. Then when the shootings continue, they would go after anything that holds more than 2 bullets. After that doesn't work because the criminals still have ARs and pistols, they would blame something else they want to take away.

And that's from a Dem mouthpiece. The cost of the average basket at the market is way above the rise in wages.

Anyway, kind of done with this. If your wage has increased enough that 18 eggs are $8 and that is OK, good for you. I know lots of folks for whom it is not. Let them eat cake, I guess.

I want congress back to the days when they had actual debates over the betterment of society, hell I’d love someone to beat another with a cane over what we have now.

Nobody understands, because history doesn’t tell us just how hard the debate was to be what we are in the Continental Congress.

That’s when people could have hard conversations without bullshit.

Now it’s: if I’m for guns I’m for murdering kids, and if you’re against them you’re a commie.

We need more debates without people clamming up and putting their heads in the sand.

I’m guilty so take it for what it’s worth.

Politicians just talk about how bad the other person is. It's nothing about what good they can do. Just shit talking their opponents.

I didn’t realize eggs were the key indicator for the economy. I apologize for the lack of empathy for all those people that find $.45/egg burdensome. Maybe the government will send them an egg check.

They can't even define what "assault weapon" is let alone ban them in a way that will withstand constitutional muster. Colorado's ban will eventually be overturned in lawsuits.

This is not accurate. Have you ever looked at the hunting regs? Notice in the beginning how they define all the terms as they will use them in the rest of the regulations?

Every gun bill does that, an assault weapon for the purpose of any particular law is defined by that law.

This is just a ridiculous fox new talking point.
