Interior misses Great American Outdoors Act deadline

Congress ignored the bs lists of projects sent over by DOI and funded an older list of priorities from last spring in the omnibus that passed last night. As for the states' ability to veto acquisition projects, Senator Tester has already said that he looks forward to working with incoming Secretary Haaland to get that reversed.

Bullets were dodged, thanks to the hard work of many of the nameless, faceless creatures of the "swamp" that wake up and try and make public lands better every day, from inside the Beltway. There's still a lot of messes to clean up, but hopefully they'll rest a little easier over the holidays before that slog starts.
