Wool hunting clothing

That’s one of the reasons LL Beane boots are favored by still hunters. Don’t get me wrong they are by no means a cold weather boot at least without packs in them. Two pairs of thick wool socks and keep moving but slowly and they work great.
I have a pair. Actually the first hunting boot I ever bought.
I have been wearing an old pair of Cabela’s silent stalker boots lately, but they’re wearing out.
My big problem is that I start to lose focus and begin to move too quickly, and start taking too big of a step.
For me, I find that taking an almost heel to toe length step is good for me to be quiet.
Once I get out to far I get out of balance and lose control of my foot stepping out in front.

My decision making process for hunting clothing starts with the noise test. I straighten out a sleeve and run my fingernails down the material. If I hear anything I move along. That generally leads me to wool or Berber type synthetics.
