What Brings A Smile About Your State?

Knowing that with every day that goes by, the chances of Mike Zimmer getting fired go higher and higher.

Yall ever had home made peach ice cream?

Not only does the finest state, the jewel of the south have better fried chicken in a gas station than ya mama makes, we have home made ice cream at the corner store, a blues man selling produce on the side of the road, fresh watermelon and blueberries abound.

We get 12 deer tags, three turkey tags, two bear tags, unlimited hogs, and predators on a 70 dollar license.
You can hunt mountains, ag land, river bottoms, pine hills, and swampy timber tracts, wilderness areas and limited entry hunts.
You can hunt actual living dinosaurs across much of the southern half of the state.
Load up the dogs and run a deer, run a hog, or run a bear and test your mettle behind the dogs.
You can hunt ducks or dove, grab your cigar and khakis and go shoot a bob white.
If you like to fish you can fly fish the southern Appalachians for native or stocked trout, go try your hand at the home of the world's largest largemouth bass. We have trout, walleye, bass, pike, and bream, hit the altamaha, or alapaha to find a 100 pound flathead. A few hours on the ocmulgee will result in enough smoked mullet to feed an army. Striped bass on the coast or punch the throttle for a chance at red snapper red and gag grouper or the rare chance at a snowy grouper. Flounder, reds, sea trout, you can't have a bad time in the outdoors in the greatest state in the United States. God bless it, and keep Georgia on my mind.

To bring some australian to the thread: what i love about qld? the fact i can go 10 minutes from my house and be in bushland, city or on the ocean with 0 cares needed plus living in the sunshine state there is a fair amount of sunshine and clear days. Combine with the fact that only a 2 hour and 50 minute drive away i can be hunting on public land in new south wales i quite enjoy queensland.

Aside the foot crunch of steps, the simple silence of a walk along the driveway with my dog. Not any manner of grandiose photo awe though it had me stop, breath in the crisp air, listen to the silence, and smile.
Amazing how frequently I walked this through the seasons and today the phone camera clicked. Rich blue sky, green pines, white snow... the simple stuff.

Catching Trout for lunch in the lake in my front yard.
Watching the leaves turn gold in Sep during Moose season.
Chasing moose out of my yard and picking up Bear scat in my lawn.
Watching my Lab (Nero) play in the lake and ride in my canoe.
Watching Moose bed down in my lawn !
Being at the end of a Rainbow on the moose stand
Stopping and watching the caribou migration cross the road
30 min Rush hour to work and yes we have road rage …….funny !
Sitting in Camping Chairs in the front yard drinking a Cold Beer with my wife after a good day of yard work.
That’s what I love about Alaska.
