They said that about Reagan. The day he was sworn into office the hostages in Iran were released after a years of being held during rule of a wimp POTUS.(kind of like we have now)

You mean after dealing with the enemy (October Surprise) and trading arms for hostages in traitorous actions before and after the election (Second Term)?

I've heard people say we are a laughing stock and Obama is a wimp. But what I don't understand is this: Who is laughing at us? And since when did conservatives give a sh*t what other countries think of us? I thought that was the province of liberals? A body would have to be pretty insecure and pussified to worry about being perceived as a wimp. It seems to me conservatives laud form over substance and that is why they like cowboy hats, chainsaws, horses and tough-guy talk even though those who wield them are drug-store-cowboy-chicken-hawks who've never forked a bronc and who are engaged in conservative feel-good politics, waiving flags and spending other people's blood and money.

Jimmy Carter was ten times the man Raygun or Jr. could ever hope to be. As is Obama. And I'm no fan of Obama.

Reagan had NOTHING to do with the release of the hostages...

But he is personally responsible for the tear-down of the Berlin Wall. He told Gorbachev to tear it down, and because Reagan was such an imposing, mighty, leading, inspiring man who had restored America to it's former glory, Gobachev did it.

Treason and club med wars aside...I wonder if Schmalts knows about the Mulford Act and Brady bill?

I'm not even touching this with only being awake an hour and a half and only a pot of coffee in me...but it pissed me off and I don't want to get this thread locked because it's been a good conversation going thusfar...

Don't get pissed, re-enlist!

Or, see the post to which I was responding.

Oh, You didn't just go there did you? Did you ever try to buy a home at 17% interest while the world went up in a chit storm. Get real, he was a nightmare for us! john

Yeah, and it was all his fault.

The only time the whole world went up in a shit storm was WWI and WWII. I think those who take our life style for granted forget that and don't know what a nightmare is.

Hell, the Bush Jr. economic crisis made the 70s pale in comparison.

I also remember earning interest on my savings under Carter. Save, don't borrow.

Yeah and I remember my neighbor coming over to say he had just refinanced his house at 16% and he was thrilled. Don't want to go there again! John

Carter is not at fault. Double-digit inflation peaked on his watch but started growing in 1965, increasing for 15 years. The Fed defeated it by putting the nation through an intentional recession. Once inflation abated in 1982, they cut interest rates and gave away money, fueling growth for 7 years. Carter and Reagan had little to do with any of it.

You can trace part of Bush Jr.s recession back to Carter though. The DE-regulation of banking started there and was doubled-down on by Reagan and subsequent politicians (you know, the establishment types like Bill and George and Jr., et al, and following on to the likes of Hillary and Jeb).

Reagan handily beat Carter while the GOP won the senate for the first time in 28 years...simultaneously. Riley's blogs from the mothership could've turned the tide. ;)

Riley was actually voting for Reagan at the time. Young, dumb, full of cum. :D

Surprised at the support for Trump. As much as I would him to be a good president, I think he is a pompous egomaniac that has no real desire to serve the people, he just wants to keep feeding the ego. The deal maker in chief scares the hell out of me.

"The press said, 'How do we know the difference between (real hunters and) the imposters?'" said Peay. "And they said, 'Well, it's really simple. They miss, and we don't.'"

Forget Trump's sons for a minute. Could this guy be any bigger a D-bag?

D-bag Don is right...he never "misses" a chance to cater to wealthy hunters, ride coattails, steal public resources, fleece tax payers, take away public access, etc. etc.
