The richest don’t even come close to paying those rates. They have good accountants and no how to use the tax code. W-2 wage earners pay those rates. Can’t bullchit a bullchitter. I know how the game works and play it too
Also the irony of “rich people should keep more money” paired with gripping about property taxing increasing because of people having lots of extra cash and using it on buying property.

No, because the wealthy hide income so they don't pay their share. The less wealthy dont make enough to take advantage of any of that.
The facts provided in the link are scary I know since they contradict your opinion.
There it is…the wealthy ”don’t pay their share.” That is delusional.

What's delusional is you believe the wealthy actually do. They don't, not even close.

Things change pretty dramatically when you're worth a few million, as I've found out.

It's a rigged game, and it strongly favors the rich, not even up for debate.

I support public schools, why I don't gripe about paying for them. Even if 23 of the 25 million bond went to athletics.

If you want something different for your kids, that's on you.

You support your preferred method of educating students. I thought you supported a quality education for ALL students?

5-8% of students in my kids’ school district are enrolled in private schools. An additional percentage of students are homeschooled. Wouldn’t the fairest form of taxation be for the entire tax base to see a 5-8% increase in their taxes and then have 5-8% of the revenue distributed to those private schools?

I don’t mind supporting paying for the education of other folks’ kids when I am not also paying to educate my own children out of pocket. I do resent not being able to see my tax dollars directed towards the education of my children since the education tax is mandatory.

Nope, private schools should be self funded, not funded with tax dollars. That's a choice, which you should rightly pay for out of pocket, or if you're so inclined, a 529. Which is another big benefit that the wealthy enjoy, BTW.

If residents of Montana, or any other state, are dumb enough to allow those things to happen, I have even less sympathy.

Shut up and pay your taxes, sucker.

The endless stream of Buzzisms is so great. You’re like the oracle of Delphi

But what you’re saying in this thread is that “rich” people get away with stuff like not paying taxes, but other people are too stupid to stop “rich” people from doing other things like help guide outcomes in out of state elections. Ok.

A quick google search of their school district shows that cost per student expenditures of taxpayer dollars is currently 3x the cost per student at the private school where my kids are enrolled.

Quality education/ cost value indeed.
Pat yourself on the back, you get to help those that can't or couldn't go to school if public schools didn't exist.

If you don't like public schools, then keep writing those checks. No way should taxes pay for private schools.

I have no issue with my taxes paying for public schools. No kid should be denied an education, in particular because their parents can't afford a private school.

I know there's nothing more that most republicans like than uneducated voters, and hate more than public schools. I can't abide that kind of "thinking".

Glad you're finally doing some of your own thinking. I believe you're slowly catching on.

I have no problem with my tax dollars paying for public education either. I do have a problem with not being able to access my taxes to help fund my kid’s’ education.

If the numbers I googled are correct, the Bozeman school district spends over $29,000 per public school student per year. The “wealthy” private school my kids attend spend less than $7,000 per student.

There are at least 600 students that go to private schools in the district. If those 600 students entered public schools at $29,000 per year property taxes would be even higher than they are.

The choice for private education for my children comes at significant sacrifice and lack of experiences that they could have if they were educated at the taxpayer’s expense. Why should my kids get less opportunity while I am subsidizing other’s education?

If more parents like myself were allowed to allocate their property tax dollars towards funding private education for the period of time their children are enrolled in school there would be less financial burden placed on taxpayers and even more opportunity for public school students since all the private school students aren’t competing for those tax dollars.

If you truly want a fair taxation, then all students, private, public and homeschooled need to be considered in the equation.

Sounds like you should send your kids to public school. It's a choice not to and choices cost money. Sort of like choosing to hunt as a NR.

But as long as you pay for private school out of pocket for them, I support that decision as well.
