Skull ID help

I found this on a ridge while hiking. I have been scouring the web trying to find out what this came from, used google images, etc. I am visiting my taxidermist Monday to see what he thinks.

Any ideas?

Believe that's the top 1/3 of a beaver skull.

Edit: ....maybe?

Best I can tell, it is a not well preserved juvenile grey fox.
That's one of the few things I would bet against. They have a very distinct pair of crests that are not evident here. It would be helpful to see teeth and side profile

Yes the unpronounced post orbital processees and sagital crest made me wonder, on closer look I think you're right, but I don't have a better guess yet. There seems to be a bit of flare moving towards the snout where a fox narrows instead of widens, but might be an illusion of the photo. Juvenile coyote maybe.
