My thought is this whole thread after page 2 has turned into a hormonal 13 year old girl. Who just watched her beloved crush get roses from her favorite enemy on Valentine’s Day.
Half? When Utah says let’s transfer public lands to states, Hunt Talk is up in arms.
When Chester Cheeto funds GAOA in his first term to target deferred maintenance, then let’s Project 2025 drive his agenda in his second term, half of Hunt Talk is like: wait and see what happens. He cares about us.![]()
I'd be curious to see where that actually went. The latest revelation that really bothers me is that a huge proportion of the money spent by junior enlisted (if they have families, poverty level) service members was diverted to something while they were fed crap. After fighting a 20 year war.

Over $151 Million Taken from Soldiers' Paychecks for Food Costs Spent Elsewhere by the Army
The money is collected in what amounts to a tax on troops -- taken from their Basic Allowance for Subsistence payments, roughly $460 per month that is automatically deducted from the paychecks of service members.www.military.com
But no problem with the VA firing (via president musk's directive) 1000 probationary employees that care for veterans? The latest revelation that really bothers me is that a huge proportion of the money spent by junior enlisted (if they have families, poverty level) service members was diverted to something while they were fed crap. Can’t we agree that both of these are shitty things? Or is it all about the whataboutism? But no problem with the VA firing (via president musk's directive) 1000 probationary employees that care for veterans?
Faux outrage, at its finest.
Oh sure. Can’t we agree that both of these are shitty things? Or is it all about the whataboutism?
Are you saying he will no longer get treatment from the VA?Oh sure.
However, IMO, having veterans suffering from all kinds of illnesses, diseases, cancer, etc. longer than they have to because 1000 people were fired for no cause that can help them...just seems a bigger deal than junk food.
Could be too I just got off the phone with a very good friend of mine that uses the VA for his cancer treatments from exposure to agent orange.
He's the guy on the right in this picture.

The level of service for Veterans is already suspect due to staffing shortages. Are you saying he will no longer get treatment from the VA?
Plenty of money wasted by the VA that should be benefiting veterans and is not.But no problem with the VA firing (via president musk's directive) 1000 probationary employees that care for veterans?

How is firing 1000 staff going to help that? Go on...Plenty of money wasted by the VA that should be benefiting veterans and is not.
I agree, they should be firing a many more than that. A lot of veterans, including myself, would like to see some major changes to the archaic VA medical system. How is firing 1000 staff going to help that?
I've personally seen factory workers sleeping on shift at a local factory. Their primary customer isn't DoD, but they do produce things for them.Even if it were true, there are massive corporations that get a complete 'pass' by most folks simply because they are privately owned and can carefully manage the information their customers and shareholders see. My brother worked for Boeing and BMW, among others, and the stories he had about waste and lazy employees rivaled anything that ever came out of a fox news anchor's mouth about federal workers. People are people anywhere they work. Lazy people will be lazy. Hard workers will work hard. It matters not the employer. What matters is how they were raised.
Critically understaffed with the people that are actually needed to treat veterans. Community care went along ways to improving the health care veterans receive, but even that program has a massive amount of waste.Good thing I never been to the VA. By choice.
Been understaffed for 50 years that I know.
Still have not gotten my 1099 from SS.
Wonder if I will, or get my check this month.
Elonia has the keys now.

Right, so they can be denied treatment by a CEO because it cuts into profits.Veterans would probably be better served if the VA would transition from a medical system to an insurance provider, imo.
