Deadheads - Let's see 'em

Cool find with the spine still connected, Neffa! Are you guys allowed to keep them?

The spine and hip on the one I found were nearby, but not still connected. I stupidly ditched the lower jaw bone because it was clacking around and I was still chasing a buck. Dropped a pin and might ask a friend to grab it if goes back.

While we’ve got the experts summoned: is the attached from a sheep hide? I found this leathery patch in the next gulch over.

Nope.

Awesome thread. recently moved to a state that "allows" deadheads to be kept. Never understood the reasoning for outlawing it.

EHD got some good ones this summer. This was one of the better ones.

Illinois buck I found on my old farm, most likely killed by EHD.

I know. I never understood why other hunters shit all over you because you are hunting in legal manner that they don't approve of.
I can’t say I have seen the crossbow get much hate where legal on here. The debate to allow them during archery season is not hating on legal crossbow harvests whatsoever.

IMG_2213.jpegProbable EHD buck I found the other day. I saw a couple really big bucks in this spot the year we had our last outbreak. I’ve probably driven past it 100 times before I saw it
