In this plot, S. Korea and USA are on the same daily time frame, 13-19 March.

The USA early trajectory is similar to Spain's early trajectory,
with an early time frame in the graph, starting when Spain first recorded 7 new deaths.
Spain is now up to 193 new deaths on March 19.

It's interesting to consider the sequence of how the effects of the virus vs. virus mitigation are hitting people. In this thread alone you can read how devastating it has become to people's finances. We, or people we each know are already feeling the strain of it, including being financially ruined by it in some cases.
Most of us do not yet know someone who has died from this disease. Barring possible but unlikely immediate developments, that time seems to be coming pretty soon. I wonder how that will affect my own views on the situation; I truly don't know.

Example: our governor just ordered surgeons to cease performing elective surgeries.
I didn’t realize a lawyer knew more about prioritizing caseload and triage than say, a SURGEON.
Our governor even closed law offices

I hunt solo. If my family is healthy and I’m allowed to drive to my units, I’m gonna be hunting. I can pack road food as easily as camp food. Don’t have to touch anyone or anything.

I hunt solo as well.
I was speaking as to the collective point of view - 1000's and 1000's or more of us out there doing MY thing.
I spent too many years seeing things through a population dynamics vs. individual animal view.........
We all color our perspective from our own experience.
But, point taken.........................................................

Maybe this was already posted, but I imagine getting briefed on this woke a lot of people in our government up.

I spoke yesterday to a fishing buddy who had just spoke - through the neighbor's living room window - to his neighbor across the street.
Who happens to be one of the 12 +/- positive individuals in Bozeman MT - pop. 50000 give or take.
Kid's in his 20's - self isolating.
We'll see as this progresses, how much closer it gets to everyone who has posted on this unquantifiably (sp - word?) small piece of the www.
And, yep , how it will affect their views.................................

I just don’t think you can compare the behavior of an adult hunter to a college spring breaker.

I always worked extra through spring break, but I’m weird.

Me too I worked my but off so I had money to hunt.

I'm worried as my brothers girlfriend has tested positive for COVID 19. Not only does she have severe asthma, shes also 3 months pregnant.

Im not sure how things have change, but earlier they had nine known women in their third trimester that tested positive. All nine survived and delivered healthy babies. Asthma ain’t no good though. Sending up a prayer.

This needs to be mandatory reading for every one. Most importantly, it needs to be understood by those implementing public policy.

As for the mask shortage thing, my wife is an ICU nurse here at the largest hospital in Oregon. They are honest to God talking about having to wear homemade cloth masks because of the impending shortage and because people have been stealing masks. My mom is currently sewing her a bunch of masks. This is a level 1 trauma center we’re taking about. In America.

Our employee who had the symptoms has finally been able to get tested and it came up negative so that is a relief.

Back to watching Italy's numbers and they jumped again today to 627 new deaths. Read a brief article that said they are still at least a week and possibly 2 weeks from a peak there.

We are at a little under 50% of our employees working from the office with the remainder working from home. I'm guessing that by Monday we will have our doors closed and 100% will be working from home.
