App fee increase bill

In testimony at the interim TRW, where I opposed the fee increase for NR's, the bill was changed to PER APPLICATION. Meaning for $75 you can apply for deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, sheep, goat, bison, etc. and pay the one time $75 fee.

The trouble I see, and I haven't checked, is whether all the applications are open at the same time, if they are, you can do them all at once and pay the $75 and rock on. There was robust discussion and the intent when it was amended was per application, with no regard to how many species you applied for.

If, and that's a big IF this passes with what they wanted, I would apply for everything at once then modify or withdraw your application as necessary.
I like your proposal better than 75 each!
Thanks for explaining it better. Appreciate that you are involved and seemingly fair minded in your approach to this. It’ll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

I think this bill has a pretty dull future. It's getting a lot of backlash.

Ok, maybe it's not per species then. for all personal applications made at the same time

Looks like you can apply for everything right now.

$75 for Antelope
$75 for Deer
$75 for Elk

That's not including Moose or Sheep or CC processing fee or PP fee if you want to build points for those species. That's a pretty expensive dinner that's not even guaranteed. lol

Me personally, it's not going to change my behavior much because I usually don't apply until I think I have enough points to draw. Just depends on other hunts I've got going already in NM or other states that year if I take a chance at the WY random.
That's not how it's going to work if you apply for them all at the same time it's a max of 75. Currently the application fee is 15 per species for nr. So 30 dollar increase if you apply for deer elk and antelope at the once

What they are gaining is the hunters that apply for 1 species a year they go from 15 to 75. They guys that apply for everything this will not do much to them. Hoping it doesn't pass.

But I stand by my statement if it passes it won't do anything to impact draw odds.

Guys pay 150 plus application fees just to apply in idaho all which is not refundable.

Yeah, if it's $75 for all together it's not near as big a deal. Kind of like having to buy a license before you can apply in other states.

300-400% increase!!! not even close to inflation!! hope it doesnt pass.a modest increase would be no big deal, sounds like it isnt set yet..it says up to $75 for non res,,hopefully it will be less.

But, would you pay another $25 for the tag?

That was my point to the TRW, raise the price of doe tags by $25-$30 and leave the application fees alone.
Yes, if the department needs more revenue, I think raising the price of doe/fawn tags is the low-hanging fruit and a reasonable approach to take.

The only thing that would make more sense than that is to raise resident fees, but I'm sure I'd get run out of town if I came to a meeting and suggested that...

Tag increase should be a non issue for all the millionaires we have here.

One does not get to be a millionaire by blowing their money on frivolous purchases such as cocaine, hookers, and application fees.

No, that's definitely "after millionaire" territory. And really, it's all about balancing budget hookers and alimony until you hit 10 mill, then you can start looking for cute 20 somethings with daddy issues.

Wyoming grizzly bear lawyers, even the losers, don't come cheap.

Maybe there should be an optional Grizz Fund like Search and Rescue on the application for those who care about Wyoming managing grizz. I couldn't care less and I would like my money going to the species they are managing.

The issue with applying all species at one time, is the inability to change from Regular to Special after you submitted the apps in January, which you would do to include Elk.
