App fee increase bill

One consideration about raising the price of pref pts and leaving application fees relatively cheap (or the same) is there is no requirement to buy pref pts in Wyoming. Hunters can apply for tags every year without buying expensive pref pts.
True, they can apply rather than buy points…….but that’s not what’s happening in Wyoming.

For every person who applies, 5x buy points. Thus my point that if this is about raising money, and I think that’s the goal, it’s a no brainer as to where the increase should be.

It would really be sad if they raise the cost to apply PLUS raise the price of pref pts/fee to apply for pref pts....a double whammy!

I thought Wyoming was doing pretty good financially in the Fish and Game department and the change last year I'm guessing helped pad those pockets some more.

Is there a breakdown of where the extra money from last year is being spent this year? Or a breakdown of where this added income would potentially go?
Grizzly bears. Total waste of money. The state of Wyoming trying to manage grizzly bears is like Charlie Brown trying to kick a football. It ain't going to happen. I wish they would hold a press conference and say we are done with grizzly bears. All handling of problem bears, poached bears, bear attacks, livestock losses, auto collisions with bears, Teddy bears or even Build-A-Bear will be handled by the feds and the bear huggers. We are done.
I apologize for the interruption but I feel that every dollar spent on grizzly bears is a dollar wasted. Our great grandkids will never see grizzly bears managed by the state of Wyoming.
Back to regular programming.

Do you have a link to this? Super curious to take a look at it, and my google-fu is apparently not strong this morning.
Yep, here's my comment and thread where it was discussed:

Thank you, can't believe I've never seen this before, but it basically tracks with what I've been thinking for a while. I don't bang the drum for R3, nor do I think Boomers going away is going to turn getting tags into a Shangri-La, but unless the data is totally wrong, there's going to be less hunters across the country 15 years from now. What that looks like for the rest of us is obviously up for debate, but its reality.
