2025 Garden!

Winter storm warning today. Less than a half inch of snow.
All tomatoes are planted in greenhouses. Actually it's the wind here that is the hardest on them.
Most of the snow is gone in the valley. Peaks are still quite white.
Need rain now to really get the moisture down.
Digging post holes one hole was as dry as August dry is here. Really weird dirt around here. It was like hard pan the whole way down.

Mine go in walls of water this week once I add compost and rototill the garden good.

I'm not doing a thing until next month. Weather doesn't settle in Idaho until after Easter for some reason. If I didn't have to drain the hoses I'd be putting water into all the beds and getting them soaked up. I may have lost my strawberries if so won't plant anymore.
Waiting for a Costco run to buy compost. Then will get with some work in the greenhouses.
More storms coming this week sure hope it's rain.

I've got green showing on my Strawberries!!! I thought they were dead. Watered them real well yesterday and started watering the beds trying to get moisture into them. Yeah I drug out the hoses yesterday. Will keep watering the beds until I plant.
My one row of lettuce made it through the winter in a mini greenhouse with frost covers on it. Watering it now. This greenhouse isn't air tight. Second year in a row I've been able to do this.
Anyone know/understand asparagus? I may have lost all of mine. Going to start new plants/roots this year outside of a mini greenhouse.

Harvesting carrots but no pictures, dragon tongue bean getting good early growth, Seminole pumpkin still at seedling stage, basil sprouting, Dill in harvest stage, tyme growing well, parsley doing great, 20250310_174501.jpgMore to come

In about early June when I’m done bear hunting will plant tomatoes, beans, peas, lettuce and carrots. Less potatoes and way more tomatoes this year and beans. Home made pasta sauce is where it’s at I don’t think I’ll ever be able to buy pasta sauce again. Last fall we planted 20 or so raspberry canes so we will see how they make out and hopefully can get some raspberries this summer
My sister made some fantastic pasta sauce using Mrs. Wages with her tiger romas. Looking for ideas other than the packaged stuff, care to share your recipe?

They are pretty much all the same online Oregno, salt, onions, garlic, sugar. I don’t mind it being a bit chunky but my finacee runs it through the food processor. I think adding peppers to the sauce makes it next level as well. I usually do about 1 onion in a batch and 10-12 garlic. Rest is by taste
