2023 Garden!

We are winding down, peas total failure this year, beans tapped out, pulled the carrots last weekend. Tomatoes and one cucumber bunch still going

We are now into pressure cooking. Got 44 jars of carrots, 10 of beans. Also a bunch of spaghetti sauce and salsa.

Not sure what happened to my cabbage - they never formed a ball in the center. Cantaloupe never fruited. I do have 5 small watermelons still growing. Picked a dozen tomatoes, a few summer squash and a pumpkin today. Production is starting to slow down. I got all the onions out with my harvest helper.

The summer garden it turning into the fall garden with new green seeds sown in the bare spots from earlier harvest. I don't really do any of this unless its heavy lifting, of course...

We had a warm sunny summer and the top bolted to 7 feet. Roots but no bulb...my guess is the climate was not cool enough
and 24 hours of sunlight in June triggered bolting. Guess I'll stick to brocolli, beets, peas, zuchinni, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes.

Finally got some broccoli and cabbage going. Cantelope produced 1 melon which proceeded to rot right away. 3 watermelons picked today and 3 more growing.

There are some jalapeños and Anaheim peppers in there too.

Our cherry tomato plant was recently pruned by a deer! Just noticed it yesterday.

A few late season peppers. Fall garden should be going in the ground this weekend. I'm ready for new things to start growing. Parsnips, carrots, lettuce, onions, snap peas, kale, brocolli.

Officially shut down the green houses this week end. Things try to grow, but very slow. None of the green houses have gone freeze yet.

I got a dozen Golden delish apples and 2 Ben Davis.
Rio and I had apples and Irish chedder snacks. There was Tillimook involved too.

I got the winter garden up and running. Kale, onions, lettuce, sugar snap peas, endive, brussel sprouts, carrots, parsnip, and broccoli.

It's actually the easiest time of year to grow vegetables. The insect pressure disappears and the weather is good. We get one or 2 freezes a year that each last about 6 hours.
