Exactly what I have on 2 muzzies. Good value for the money. I'm not planning to shot past 125 yds, most shots being less than 100. Yes, you could spend more, but for me it is not warranted. If it was going on one of my rifles where I expect to shoot past 300, then I will spend for the glass.
Have to agree with DougFir's response. Beautiful place to hunt. Was there this past fall (2nd rifle). Group saw several elk first 3 days (harvesting 2). Only saw 4 other hunters, 3 of which were "kind enough" to set their camp only a few hundred yards from ours. Never saw another elk after their...
Might try this ... https://www.sabrered.com/pepper-spray/protector-dog-spray-belt-clip. Personally have not had to use it, but I do carry it or another dog deterrent brand called HALT when I cycle.
Surgery may not desirable, but sometimes it is the best. Making repairs while they are minor can be a lot easier than waiting until the repairs are extensive. After 3 knee surgeries and 1 shoulder I can say the ones where I waited until I could barely walk or lift a can of soup took much longer...

I personally can't offer any help as it only shoot a straight up Defiant. Love it.
After this years hunt I have to say it’s elk heart cooked over an open fire. But before that 1st elk was down it was cheese and salami with a Heathers Choice packaroon to top it off.
Leaving IN tomorrow afternoon. Going to take my time on the 1,000+ mile trip since I am doing it alone. Starting up the trail on Thursday after hooking up with the rest of the group. I have high hopes tempered with realism. Can't wait to see sunrise on Saturday morning.
Similar to Curveball's experience, I had my CO elk head dropped off with a local "taxidermist" and I had a euro in less than 12 hours. This guy was set up well. Three propane fired boiling pots in his shop. I think he had done it once or twice.
The 12 hours gave me time to get a good nights...
Wow, John, what an offer. I would take you up on this but already heading to the "hills" of your beautiful state for a 2nd rifle season hunt. Closest I might get is Colorado Springs as I pass through.
A outfitter that I hunted with a few years ago offers pack trips. Not sure if these are too expensive or not.
