Why in the hell…

Coming home from Ennis this afternoon I hit the narrows on 287 by the Jefferson.
5 Highway Patrol with lights on following a beat up sedan driving on its rims after hitting a spike strip.
I just know the sedan was bound and determined to make Ennis to buy a carton of cigarettes with loose change, so long as they could make sure Southern Elk was next in line.

My issue is with checks, not cash or lose change. 😉 Plus they would have to buy those smokes in Norris. They’d never make over the hill riding on rims.

What is my alternative? 0.63 stamp and whatever for an envelope? Or I could burn some gas and time to hand deliver?

Here is my dollar, thank you.
My auto-debit saves them having to pay someone to stuff and mail an invoice and then pay that same person to open my envelope, endorse, and deposit my check.

All I was saying is I save them time and money and then they charge me $1 to do it. Just pointing out the principle of it.

"When the oil stops, everything stops, nothing left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money, son, so you just well stop countin'
Can you break the horse? Can you light the fire? What's that, I beg your pardon?
I think I see a rip in the social fabric; brother can you pass the ammo"
😁
Corb gets it . . .

I'm actually moving back to cash and checks.

If you're in a hurry, get in the other line. 30 seconds? Chill out.

Just put a label on the "cash/check" line and then I know.

I am not against check writing, just be an observant and considerate human being. By the time they have your last item checked, you should have everything on the check filled out other than the dollar amount.

Hell, even when I am using a card I already have it swiped and back in my wallet while they are checking my items.

Ah, a premature facilitator.

When I try that the Walgreen's cashier says, not yet dear.

*edit to add, Walgreen's cashiers speak fluent Boomer.

Sort of like how you’d think the passenger would be ready to get out of the truck before the driver, but that never happens?
Man that hits close to home. I can be out of the truck and in the store before my Wife has grabbed her purse.

Oh the humanity.

I remember the stressful days when you had to get gas before they closed at 1800 and didn’t open back up until the next morning.

Card? What’s a card.

Shit, apparently I am getting to be the old guy.😥
Actually the gas stations here are all full service and close around then. Now it’s the east coast so the next town over is literally 1 block and those stations are pay at the pump… but also .50 more expensive some how… it’s a weird state 🤨

Because socialist commie losers want it all to be digital.

Eff the dirty commie losers.
I’ve never understood why any adult these days doesn’t use a credit card for 99% of their purchases.

When you use a cc you shift all the risk of theft to the credit card company. Someone steals your card they deal with it and are out the money not you.

In the last year there have only been 5 different entities paid from my checking 3 credit cards 2 utilities.

Beyond that I’ve found my credit card companies have more ATM locations than my bank so if I do need cash I can avoid fees.

Checks/debit cards are major targets for fraud.

And I’ve never dropped $50 in credit on the ground. I think I’m lifetime total $500 found on the ground.
