What is the Oldest Rifle You Actually Hunt Big Game with ?

I occasionally use my grandfather's old Winchester M70 from 1936, the first one in the state of MT.

I actually have a 1937 Winchester 22 single shot, smooth bore, as I understand made for farmers, for critters close in.

Not big game, but I took my new-to-me 1920s Iver Johnson 12-gauge dove hunting yesterday on public land and it scored its first hit. I really like using vintage firearms on hunts.

That's in great condition. I have a 1920's Champion that looks like it has been through the wars. I do not know where my dad acquired it. The cylinder bore makes it pretty sweet for doves. I started dove hunting with a Winchester Model 41, full choke .410 bore. Of course I never got any birds. (Deadly on rabbits though.) Then my dad let me take the Iver Johnson to the dove shoots and things got better.

This one is a first model Newton chambered in 256 Newton. I have one just like it chambered in 30 Newton that is my favorite elk rifle. I’ve also shot deer with a Model 1920 Savage in 250-3000 and an old Whitney rilling block in 40-65.
