One of the last times I was in Austin I saw more Cali plates then TX.

Yea, we are all out of room in Texas for more Californians. We're running out of water in a lot of areas too. Maybe they would be happier in Oregon or Washington.

People hiking up trails with music playing on open speakers drive me bat shit crazy.

Me too. Encountering a noisy group of hikers on a popular trail south of Bozeman up off the Gallatin, I informed the one carrying the small loud boom box that it was illegal on the USFS trail and he could be cited for unnatural noise pollution and lose his music box. He reacted as though he believed me. His music was obnoxious but esp there on the trail.
'Just another reason my wife won't let me pack a firearm while hiking!

Less than ten years ago ... and, yeah, why not merely cell phone music? But unless saved, it would not have played as no cell service on that trail.
It wasn't an 8-track, Nick ... but boom boxes are still around.

The point was loud obnoxious music on the trails drives some of us "bat shit crazy".
If you enjoy it and are pissed at me cuz you think it's your "right" ... well then, you know where you can put your boom box, blue tooth device, cell phone or whatever you wish to use to broadcast irritation.
