The housing shortage and public lands

What an idiot.
As a CO resident for 12 years now I can tell you from DIRECT experience he is SPOT on.....the change in the Denver/Boulder/FoCo metroplex is simple proof. Denver is now a freaking polluted, overrun, toilet that folks in the rest of CO avoid like a plague. What is idiotic is moving from a liberal failed city/state, bringing those policies to a new place and expecting different outcomes.......what is the definition of insanity again?

I shoot does and maybe a buck in my back yard every year. Still havent seen a meh-lk there, tho. :(

This just doesn't mean anything or have any intellectual value.

Talked to local deputy about this issue. He says under mutual response here, he has been to several looks into squatters on public lands. BLM,state,FS. Not just long term campers.
Some folks are miles from the deed discriptions with the county. Or have fake deeds.

That’s a red herring argument. This isn’t about whitetails. It’s a little bigger than that, but carry on.
In Texas they stock bighorn sheep in small pastures.
Don’t be a fuddy duddy stick in the mud.

I see potential for a wild animal petting zoo in my backyard. Progress! Now the tourists won’t have to travel to Yellowstone to get gored by a bison.

The thrill seekers can pay more to glamp in the wolf enclosure.
Big discounts available for campers wearing bacon pants. Should cut down on feed costs for the pack.

Taking the Beartooth from Redlodge to Idaho Falls on a family trip this next month. Honestly, I'm dreading the leg through the park instead of being excited to show my kids even a little sliver of what Yellowstone looks like. Bad feelings about bad feelings.
We were in the park a couple of weeks ago and early and late wasn't bad especially on the Beartooth end of the park. We had a great day with the kids in and around the Lamar Valley seeing wildlife. There are ,of course, the occasional pull over in the middle of the road folks you will need to deal with. Having a pass ahead of time helps getting in the gate.

Someone needs to leave bad Yelp reviews on towns with skyrocketing housing. That would probably help by discouraging the idealistic from moving here.

Camper Van Bacon Pants is a wicked good band name though.
Band name or signature cocktail?

I can see potential for a new clothing line. Brown and white plaid with sunburn lines. Accessorized with green and black flip flops and leather bear spray holsters in the style of Roy Rogers.

Mule deer are not whitetails.
Mebbe so, but I have a picture of a nice 8 (4 Western count) mulie walking down main street Alpine, Texas.
Also does in the kids front yard and they had a trail down the alley.
Mulies are pretty adaptive too.
A friend had elk and auodad that came out of the mountains into his back yard.

I've seen a frog bump his butt on hot asphalt......

I beg your pardon sir.
There are free range desert bighorn in the Glass Mtns and Big Bend Nat'l Park.
TPW has worked hard reintroducing the species.

Hunts for Texas DBS are available.

Town deer are not symbolic of a healthy ecosystem. You’re entirely missing the point.
Some people are so far removed from what an ecosystem not totally manipulated and altered by man looks like they are unable to conceptualize what a natural ecosystem looks like.

I’ve seen plenty of pigeons in the park when my kids take bread crusts down to feed them. That’s why I know shooting steel shot to keep waterfowl from ingesting lead is simply an abuse of government power.
