2 dog loss stories in 2 days. Sad. Very.
Just thinking the other day how lucky I am Rio found me. 4 years? He is a bit grey in the muzzle and has grey dots for eyebrows now. But he is always by my side and ready to go. Or sleep next to me on the couch.

I've got a rott that just turned 12. I think. He was about 3 when I stole him and I've had him for 9 years. The average lifespan for a rott is 8-10 years, but he's lazy and spoiled, so hopefully I don't have to deal with a death any time soon. He is getting grey, but still runs around like a puppy outside.

We think she's 11 or 12. She was picked up on a major street near UNLV. It's a miracle she survived. I came home from an archery elk hunt in 2016 and found her sleeping on my pillow. Not the best way to introduce a new pack member but my wife has never had her own dog and didn't know. After about a month of reestablishing the pack pecking order, she's been an absolute joy. She's a great training partner. We just got back from a 4 mile mountain session.

She was 4 pounds when Lonna got her from the Animal Foundation. Now look at her. 6 pounds of furry!

I can’t even bring myself to read the stories. Every new dog arrives with that tickle in the back of your brain that the clock is ticking. But yet, I can’t imagine my life or my family without at least one bird dog doing ridiculous things.

My wife has said she dreads the day we lose a dog and might not want another. I say it's what you sign up for when having one. The good outweighs the bad no matter how painful it is to lose one. mtmuley

We got our Brenna from a shelter a couple years ago. We think she is around 6 years old but not sure. She road with us from Indiana to Colorado elk hunting last year she slept in the back seat and you would never knew she was back there. She loved playing in the snow and sleeping in the tent. She is a great dog and hate to think of the day when she is not sleeping by our bed or greeting us at the door.
