Chukar Dog Injury

That is great news. I am so glad for you and your family that she’s healing so well.

Another Cady update.

She had her 30+sutures removed yesterday. Vet said there was a vet educational type meeting on Saturday. Cady was the gossip topic. The tough pregnant setter that survived a gallbladder injury.

Ultrasound showed healthy pups. Due date is March 1st.

She’s back to her old self. Very active, upset when we tell her not to run and always looking out the window for birds.

She’s going to spend the next few weeks growing pups.

Whew! The dogs get to be so very important to us. Glad that she's doing better and better.

How’s your pup doing?

I took her for a dirt road walk on Saturday. She ran the whole time and sight pointed quail walking in the snow.

She’s due on Saturday, plus or minus 12 hours per the vet. She’s big and the pups are squirming.

Vet did an X-ray yesterday and could confirm four pups. If you watch the technique it’s not precise, in my opinion. There might be one or two more.

At surgery, she had seven heartbeats. It looks like a few pups didn’t survive the recovery and were absorbed by Cady. I had never heard of puppy absorption until yesterday.

I had vet technicians and other vets telling my Cady stories while I was at the vet. They all loved her and would take turns watching her when she was injured.

I’m waiting anxiously for delivery of the pups.
