Elk scouted this weekend. Found deer, moose, and luckily some elk! Best of all we got my favorite critter (Shasta the powderhound) some off leash time after 7 weeks of confinement post-ankle surgery. She was delighted to say the least.

A quick hike in overnight

Decided another gear and fitness test was going to be more productive than elk hunting in 100°F heat. Two hours to where I left the pavement, three more hours on USFS roads, about an hour to hike in. Took the "shortcut" home, which took 6 hours of rock hopping. Any current or former North...

I usually like to compose my subject a little better, but for some reason I had concentration issues and just put him in the middle of the frame. No crop and shot at 100mm.

He's still winter skinny, probably had a bad attitude. What creek are you on. Kinda looks like American creek.
