Sunday Pic of the Day

Oldest is finally old enough to do 4h and she did pretty good for her first year winning grand champion showmanship in the novice group and 2nd in carcass out of all the meat goats. She learned a lot and is very competitive so she’s already making plans on how she can do better for next years fair and what other animals she is planning to take. Pretty proud of her as she worked her butt off all summer working with this goat. Considering the first part of June I had to rope the goat every day for two weeks just so we could catch him to what he turned into it was quite the accomplishment for her.

Good for her, congrats.

He would fit in a freezer no problem.
Unfortunately I didn’t draw a tag for our unit and with only 20 acres I don’t qualify for an LOP tag. Lucky turd may make it until next year if he stays down by the creek.

I usually like to compose my subject a little better, but for some reason I had concentration issues and just put him in the middle of the frame. No crop and shot at 100mm.

Photos from the week. Different activities. Relaxing at the farm in Va and a Philly is born. Couple bird at the fair. A great mixture 50/50 black and tan. Hunting mushroom, Turkey Tail and Red chanterelles.

This house continues to support 4h even though the kids are in their mid, shit, late 30s. Funny thing, they moved out by the time they were done with school, successful jobs and havn’t moved back in. Country kids, go figure. Well done, you deserve a pat on the back as well.
