Well it’s Aug 15th. I know y’all got another 6 months of talking about bears and gun laws and screwing someone’s grandma. But for some of us it’s gettin close to game time.

Turned this guy up yesterday. Not sure how I feel about him. Video and photos are from a mile away. Gonna try to get a closer look. Always wanted to hunt a high country Muley with a bow. I think I would shoot this one with the bow, not sure with a rifle. Definitely won’t object to my 13 y/o whacking it on the junior hunt. See if he sticks around. He’s not particularly far from a road but not close either. Grouse hunters probably gonna run him off. What you guys think? Got a video of him on my gram.

Lol, those are screenshots of a video of a deer that’s .91 miles away thru a spotter maxed out with the zoom on the phone almost maxed out as well. Gets a little grainy don’t ya know. I’ll post some great pics if I can get within couple hundred yards. The video is better.

I think he’ll go about 150, give or take. 100” frame (beams, inside spread + mass) and about 50” up. If his G2’s are 15”, the right G3 is about 6-7”, (don’t see a fork on the left) and his G4’s are 7” that would put him right at 150 gross.

Saw about a 170” 5x7 two weeks ago along the highway, few hours later on the way home there was a body in the road in the same spot with no head.

I could maybe see that buck getting to 150 or close maybe. Top end Montana deer for sure on public. Worth burning a season over. My gut says 144 if I had to guess.
