Do you carry one in the chamber while big game hunting?

If the gun is on my shoulder or in my pack I leave the chamber unloaded and expect the same of anyone in my presence; if the gun is in my hands where I expect close/quick action I’ll put one in the pipe.

I have had brush snag my safety and click it to fire while the gun was in my shoulder, it does happen and could be catastrophic. I’ve also been standing by someone (a guest at our camp that I did not know) when he had an “accidental” discharge - that will scare you.

Anyone ride a motorcycle? A car is safe(r). You're twenty four times more likely to die than driving a car. (NHTSA).

Don't want to ride bitch? Don't ride bitch. Don't want to hunt with a chamber loaded, safety on, hunt partner or guest? Don't.

Meh, to each his / her own for the decisions we make.

Yes, I keep a chambered round, safety on. Missed a chance at an enormous black bear one time, because in the moment it took to chamber a round, he was gone. Also many times I missed opportunities at good bucks for the same reason. Maybe if I lived out west, where the forest or woods aren't so dense, like in the east, I might feel differently.
