You seem to be riding and the packing the wrong ones, was it dark when you saddled up?

In reality, my great-Uncle Dutch liked to ride the mule on really steep switchback trails, and when topping out on top, would sometimes switch back to the horse.

Nope. The roan molly (Molly,16 hands 1300 pounds) and this black john (Mike, 16 2 and 1200 pounds)
can and will walk the legs off purt near any horse in NW Colorado.
Molly is my elk tracker. She can smell 'em a way before you can see 'em.
Plus that sorrel gelding will pack ANYTHING you put on his back. (including my mother-in-law)
