Let’s ax every state and federal employee that’s wastes working hours arguing and flexing on HT. Think of the tax payer money that would be saved.
So you're good w the propaganda version, not interested in the realities within these agencies? Posts from current federal employees are the only truth in this Deutchland Uber Alles trumpian liarpalooza.

@BuzzH

Maybe your more of WSJ fan? You're in luck USDA has subs for that too...

I saw their Bloomberg susbscription was $850k... WTF!

There's so much gross overspending.

Exactly. I can say that the mental gymnastics that they need to go through to make a tax extension deficit neutral is mind boggling. The biggest problem is cutting $1T in government spending cuts about 0.5-1.0% off GDP, which makes the numbers worse. They could maybe say that lower growth means lower interest rates so that expense falls. But that isn't a great political narrative. Somehow they will blame Biden or some new boogieman. Obviously the lack of these funds is going to hurt a lot of smaller communities. I have complete confidence they will find a way to sell it to the public though, and it will be bought hand over fist.
What difference does it make if the US's GDP is 1% lower? The government shouldn't be spending money they don't have.

If they cut $1T a year in spending, then the national deficit is only going up $2.5T a year right? That's better than not doing anything like has been done in the past. Cutting spending mixed with tariffs could very soon turn around the national debt.

Have you ever walked into any Congressional office in D.C.?

I bet not...
Sure have...I was actually a government employee early in my career. I left for the private sector after a couple years. I didn't want my pay limited to GS-5/7 levels for the next 30 years, this was the late 90s. Now that 20+ years have went by it was actually one of the best decisions of my life. Can you image how well off we would all be if we weren't working til May every year just to pay taxes?

Then you clearly aren't very observant.

Must be nice to wear blinders your whole life.

I don't know what "It's" is in your sentence. Doesn't matter. We are past the point of trying to explain how the World's largest economy works. Let's get those tariffs started, rather than just having chit chats with the media so he can issue threats and get on camera. It might work out the way you think it will. I admit anything is possible and we have been surprised by a lot of things the last 5 years. I just tired of hearing talk about it from the likes of people who don't know what they are even talking about.

I wonder if State Agencies, particularly those in the West, will start paying their conservation officers a living wage that actually reflects the cost of living in these states to try and boost recruitment and pick up the slack should there be a shortage of federal officers.......we can always hope I suppose 😂

I'm referring to the National Deficit.

Here's the direction I think Trump is taking.

Decrease spending
Implement tariffs
Remove income tax

I don't know what's not to like about that. It sucks seeing 30% of a paycheck going to taxes.

I going to take a wild guess that you haven't done any research on that idea. Reality of the US economy is not a version of The Sims video game.

Increase National Debt…

His spending cuts and tarrif income aren’t going to equal the $4T in income tax revenue collected.

No--the tax cuts they have planned will zoom the deficit even higher.

At some level it's simple, but SO many people don't get it.

Think of your pay. Think of taking a lot less in. What does that do to revolving debt you may have, or debt of any kind?

It's insanity.

And yes the government--any government--should take on some debt. The problem is insuring it's easily paid for and you are confident you can continue growing the economy.

We'd still argue over some things but if they cuts were truly targeted to have minimal impact and taxes would not be cut further--especially for the wealthy--we make a bit of a dent in the GROWTH of the national debt. What they are doing does not accomplish anything like they are claiming it will, it in fact makes it worse.

Would have to see a breakdown of who is cut. If the Energy Department cuts were those destined to fill the desert with solar farms, I'm OK with it. Desert terrain could never recover.
President Musks focus doesn't seem that specific.

What was going to limit you to entry level classifications? Lack of education? Not many stay there unless they want to!
