With all I read here about how liberal the courts are I wonder how this happened!

"A federal appeals court overturned a lower-court ruling that blocked coal companies from sweeping rubble from mountaintop removal mining into streams, possibly allowing more permits to bury Appalachian streams beneath huge valley fill-waste piles."

What's the matter back there in Kentucky?

The problem is the same problem that you have with ranchers out there in Idaho. Many people don't know or don't know enough about this practice, and the coal mines are the ones with the money.

Hopefully there'll be enough hooha over it to correct the problem.

I have seen first hand what this practice does. No fish and the wildlife gets poisoned by the water. Not good.\
I cant see how this is a good thing. It is just like me coming over to your house and dumping my garbage in your yard.

The only good is that it allows coal to be mined in certain areas much cheaper. 'Ol GW sure made it alot easier, as it's now classified as construction dirt or something like that.!! I can't remember where I read it, but over 700 MILES of streams have been covered.
