Influencers Ruining Stuff

Been going on since before the internet. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve read “nice, fat forky” in a magazine article over the years. The “fat” part was just an excuse to kill a young animal and try to cover that by saying it would provide a lot of meat.
Would it be better to say the forkie had a good personality?

😂 bro, those Wyoming halibut are out of this world!
These are Wyoming "halibut".

Some folks like playing with fire…
Too far of a shot.
I wouldn’t advise shooting a mechanical.
Arrow flight was a$$, as mentioned.
Looks like he was a cm or two away from never seeing that bull again.
The way it starts squirting though, it does look like the broadhead did its job, barely.
Anything for the gram.

Yeah saw that one on Instagram and couldn’t believe he posted it with those hashtags, good addition to this thread. That arrow flight was atrocious and was so close to being a lost bull.
Crazy thing was that bull had a big ass dot on his side that would have been a great spot to aim at

Influencers need to spread out the hunting and fishing they highlight. The biggest problem is the hyper focus on a handfull of western states. It has overwhelmed the draw systems and the public land. Creating more support and more hunters is not bad its good. Directing ALL of those hunters to the same limited amount of western public ground is terrible for the resource. There are some great otc opportunities that no influencer has ever promoted. Its always the same states over and over followed up with 50 videos "how to apply in x western state" .

It is on states and their game agencies to reduce opportunity.

i would say opportunity has already been reduced in part by hunting influencers. Reduced qaulity of animals, reduced qaulity of hunt experience and reduced opportunity to get former easy to obtain tags. This thread is on influencers screwing up special places not how states should deal with the influx of new hunters. If influencers really cared about the future of hunting and the resource they COULD create content from other states besides the handfull that is always highlightef by ALL of them. Followed up by a sales pitch to apply, apply apply! Its not sustainable to create new hunters in all 50 states and get them obsessed with only hunting in a small number of western states. For example Washington has a 2 bear hunt in August! Otc tags western hunt that is in prime time for berrys and the bears that eat them. This is the best spot and stalk bear hunt but all I see are bear hunts in Idaho, montana etc. I see lots of people coming to Idaho for spot and stalk bear hunts. I would think we are one of the worst for spot and stalk bear.We have bait, hounds and in my experience smaller bears. Why? Its because influencers highlight Idaho. Some influencers have had positive impacts on hunting but the net result for western hunting has been very negative. IF they really care about the future of hunting and wildlife they should do hunts in the rest of the 50 states. The content they create is responsible for too much pressure on a small amount of states. So IF they really give a crap they could help by highlighting hunts in other states.
