Influencers Ruining Stuff

Definitely. Not even just the 90’s. As recently as 15 years ago, twelve 160” class deer were seen in one day in one area and a buddy missed a 185” 4 times.

I saw 1 true 160” this year in all my hunting, and he’s probably getting whacked this week. Sad state of affairs out there. A lot of it can be contributed to hunting influencers and social media warriors, and the glamorization of the western hunter. The other half poor management by FWP.
I’ve come to the realization that everything we had is gone. Enjoy what’s left because the window is closing up real quick. Money and politics will not allow the changes that are needed. The baseline is shifted influencers shift right with it. Shame on those that took part in the demise.

All I'm gonna say is Boomers got the best of everything, sumbitches....

It’s wild the way these guys have to pay their own back and rationalize what they did. I’m proud of all the Dinks I shoot even if you all say I work to hard for them sometimes. It’s about the journey, not the f’ing photo at the end of the trip. I think that’s what most people are missing these days. The journey and their story probably sucked so all they can do is him and haw about some bs that makes themselves feel better. Just own it. I’ve shot fawns, calves, and a bunch of small stuff and I’m proud of every one of them. If you feel like you have to justify your decision to someone else why are you even pulling the trigger in the first place.

I finally checked out this post because it was getting so long. If you really want to blame someone go to the source.

The grand-daddy “influencers” can be blamed! That includes the Eastman and Carter families. They certainly brought attention to hunting and applying for quality tags across the Western US.

Things have exploded exponentially since those good ole days! The advent of the iPhone and internet can also be blamed.

Well stated. I’m in this club 👍

Dsnow9 and F250, that is one of the reasons I hardly ever post photos on the internet. It's fun to see successful photos and videos of giant bucks, bulls, rams, and billies but some get pretty caught up in sharing photos mostly to boost their egos.
