Going try first time elk hunting. Had a friend that's headed back now. He hunted 9 days and only heard 1 elk the whole time. Said it was hot. I seen on the weather forecast that there's cooler Temps coming so hoping for the best.

Roger that, had a buddy that said the same thing in northern Colorado, very quiet…. I don’t think he spent much time up high near treeline though.

My buddy was staying at 10,000 feet and said he hiked about 5 or 6 miles a day from his camp. Only seen 2 other hunters the whole time.
