As I child I remember Field and Stream and Outdoor Life had snarling grizzly bears on their covers and inside they were filled with stories about how dangerous it was to confront a wounded grizzly.
"I didn't want to shoot her in the face so I clipped her in the right leg. Thank God when I shot, it did exactly what I hoped it would do: It tripped her."
