Spring time boys from a few years back.

In that aspen grove bunch, I see at least three--plus maybe the one whose left side, back edge is all I can see in the photo--that I would not pass up in an unlimited unit. I'd prefer them dressed for Winter though.

The worst thing you can do is go look at a bunch of youtube video's and pics or rams.......then go hunt the unlimiteds.......After a few days you realize that you are not in the same location those video's and pic's were taken. Maybe download the video's and take them with you so you can remember what a sheep looks like.

I’ve got an airplane bottle of 28 + year old scotch that will not be opened till I punch a sheep tag in the unlimiteds. It’ll probably be much older than 28 when it gets opened.

The key is just being able to finally open the bottle. Regardless of how many years. Most don't ever get the chance of success in the UL's.

To me, that looks more like a ram that might inhabit, at least seasonally, one of Montana's unlimited units than some of the studs in pictures others have submitted. Moreover, the background appears appropriately vertical!

Do you ever carry a black bear tag, or is it a strictly grizzly area?

Mid September depending on weather conditions. Yes you run into black bears and some giants too. I also carry a elk and deer tag as well mainly because I just haven't been out to hunt them.

The fact is its up to you to make that call. Do you want to harvest a bear and essentially end your sheep hunt? Or a bull or a buck? If that thought process crosses your mind in there then you better assess your sheep hunt situation.

I've seen guys punch tags on other critters causing them to have to pull the pin. Not one of them has said they'd gladly do it again.....
