If they really wanted the government to own it, couldn’t the owner just quit paying property taxes?

I don't get it. What is the logic behind this? Why would you take the ability of the government to purchase land of the table? I'm missing something.

No, at least here there will be people waiting in line to pay others delinquent taxes on the fat chance they may get possession of that property or at least there money back plus interest.

This is just crazy. Absolutely crazy. I have a hard time understanding where this thought process is coming from, especially after the benefits received by all after the Natrona county and Kelly parcel sales. Is drug testing a thing in the legislature?

Interesting issue. I guess I am in the middle. I have issues with a Govt. that limits, or tries to limit, what I do with my private property. But I do take the stance that there needs to be limits on what a foreign Government (or an agent of that foreign Government) is allowed to purchase within the guise of a private land sale. I have no issues with the USG or a State purchasing land back from a private individual if that sale is mutually agreed on. But the Federal Govt, and the State(s), that employ eminent domain to force a sale at questionably low valuation levels needs to have very high hurdles to cross before they are allowed. From that broad perspective, it seems as if the bill in question is poorly written. My opine only.

No question - this does not stop a new powerline/gas line/etc acquring land via emminent domain
