Sounds really good- how did you make it?

I could see morels, ramps and peas going well with an alfredo or pesto-type sauce for a nice spring theme.

I used and modified a bit a Hank Shaw recipe. Butter sauté the morel rings and garlic and thyme. Sherry and Marsala cooking wines added, then I used a two heaping dollops of store bought Alfredo sauce, a then a big slug of heavy whipping cream. I got impatient and added a bit of flour to thicken the sauce, next time I will be more patient. One Costco rotisserie chicken breast chunked, broccolini tops and frozen peas to emphasize spring. I kept the spring onions on the side, as I know they are not Mrs kansasdad’s favorite.

Store bought salad with spinach/spring mix, apple chips, feta and an acidic vinegrette had a hard time fitting onto the plate.

Mid April and only one post for morels. Are folks not looking or not finding? I've been looking everyday in my hotspots but haven't found any, not even grays.

My south central Kansas areas are very spotty on morels, and we are starting year four of advanced drought conditions. Throw in your random high 80’s/low 90’s days (4 days in the 90’s!!… already this spring) and you can see why splitting a dozen small morels with the landowner was a big deal.

Snowy, wet, and 50’s here. Still have some time before they show.
