Another fire in roosevelt county this afternoon could see the smoke from 40milea away havnt heard if they are getting it contained or not

Pretty dismal at our place in far north central Montana. Pretty much zero snow over winter and lots of wind. We are putting in spring crops but it’s not looking good. Range is in tough condition with very few watering spots for the critters. All of our stock ponds are bone dry. One I have never seen dry before.

Same in northeast MT. Just can’t catch a break.

Snowmelt runoff is starting locally. Rain showers rolling in tonight along with more wind. This wind can shove it. Been 25+mph all week. Dust on snow, not good. Increased sublimation, not good.

Power back on now but so windy it can't acquire a signal.
Smoke with grit outside. Just watching for flames or heavier smoke.

Just got signal & fires along the bosque again in Alb...& new fire in the Jemez now too. Jeezus

What is igniting all of these fires?

-zero dew points,5% humidity and 50-70 winds today. A spark from a chain, parking on grass, butts tossed, homeless camps along the rivers, aholes. A piece of broken glass in the grass...

Couple new fires today in harding and union counties I havnt seen them on the news yet, jus know some firefighters up they that said they are starting to big. Also another new fire between tatum and roswell, we may end up sending a couple trucks to it yet... if it keeps blowing up

so far so good. I can't see much now past a half mi. Keep going out & sniff and look for flames is all I can do. Wash the sand out of my eyes after.

Los Lunas took over a 4 mile section of the river/bosque and made a "Nature Preserve", which closed off some good duck hunting. Now that section is full of drug addicts, vagrants, hobos, etc, it's just a matter of time before that spot goes up in flames.

I also know folks who would be running a chainsaw or burn their trash in the morning & walk away today. Homeowners.
