Doubt this will impact agencies...

How dare us lowly peasants question the worth of some of the government.
By all means, question away.

But the verbal abuse, name calling, threats of physical harm to you, your children, your spouse, etc has become some sick type of national pastime. If you want a government made up of civil servants that care and are worth a damn, don’t treat them like shit.

Forums are great for the rants of both sides though reality: An agency may reduce its workforce and offer severance.

Little complaints when it's open field for early retirement...

I haven't done anything like that. I have on the other hand been called a rube. I like that rube!!!

Not accusing you of doing so, just remarking that there is a difference between questioning and abuse, and many people don’t seem to know, or care, where that line is.

Good and bad employees in all sectors. The bad apples seem to ruin it for everybody. No different than the unions getting a rap for all members being lazy and yada yada. Of course I've never encountered anything I'd consider abuse. Maybe a little presumption from time to time.

And a rube i maybe, but a rube who did not put all my faith in the all mighty government to provide for my family and I.

I’m still confused to the reasoning of the chit talking of taking a job with the private sector vs the government.

Hard working people and lazy people in both worlds.

I still show up to work everyday, work for my paycheck, and don’t expect a handout.

Not sure the point you’re trying to make.

Whle I have the attention of all the federal employees here. Is getting hired with an agency then not being able to "pass" a hearing test in one ear, discrimination? I felt I got stiffed a little on that one. Maybe not?

Depends. Some jobs require reasonable accommodation. Some don’t because no workable accommodations exist.

Might depend on the job?

I’ve had a 80% hearing loss in my right ear and wear a hearing aid since I was a kid. Still got a job.

Probably depends on the job you’ve applied for.
